Greetings Kountry Klub Friends!
We are DJ and Linda Thommen, your Region 2 Directors. Our homebase for the past 25 years has been Salem, Oregon–where we raised our two wonderful sons. Before retiring, DJ spent many years in the construction industry, and Linda enjoyed a diverse career as a kindergarten through university level math educator.
Our first motorhome was a 2004 Winnebago Adventurer. As a homeschooling family, we had the freedom to explore countless destinations throughout the United States–as far east as Minnesota and as far south as Arizona–with our two school aged children.
As we embarked on our retirement years, we knew we needed a different type of coach that would be more conducive to longer trips. Newmar’s 2023 Dutch Star 4081 floorplan fit the bill perfectly. We joined the Kountry Klub within one week of picking up our coach, and we became Oregon State Directors three months later.
It’s been an exciting three years! Our top priority from the start was to reactivate the Oregon chapter. We have been thrilled with the amazing leadership team that assembled for the Oregon Explorers. They are some of the most dedicated and fun-loving members we know, and their rallies have been amazing.
Another highlight for us has been International Rallies. We are grateful for the opportunities the Klub has given us to actively support the leadership team during these big events. Working with and meeting Klub members from across the country has been a blessing as well.
As we hit the ground running, we want to continue to support and grow chapters as well as recruit state directors. The region has so much to offer, and with more rally opportunities we will be able to share even more of these wonders with the Kountry Klub.
