As we are writing this article, we are creeping ever so slowly towards the end of our winter adventures in Yuma AZ. Soon will be joining the exodus north with the rest of the “Snowbirds” back to our home in western Washington for a few months. Then the end of May we will be heading east to attend the International Rally in Lewisburg WV. The month of May is the beginning of the “Rally Season” for those of us in the Pacific Northwest, so far we have 5 rally’s scheduled for the region with the Region 2 rally TBD, so if you’re in our area for the summer we would love to see you at one of these rally’s.
Here in Yuma the end of February and early March is “car show” time, all the car clubs are prepping for a 3 day bash called “Midnight at the Oasis” car show. It annually draws 1,000, give or take, custom car owners and their hot rods/cars from all over the Southwest. There are 3 major league baseball spring training fields that are filled with cars, concerts stages, food trucks galore, and socializing to be done along with drooling at the old “Detroit Iron” that is on display. Maybe by the 2026 show our 32 Plymouth Pb Coupe Street Rod will be ready to participate! It is quite a show if you have interest in this sort of thing.
The Evergreen Aires have planned our rally for July 13-17, 2025, which is now open for registration on the NKK website. We have reserved 20 campsites at the Eagle Tree RV Park in Poulsbo, WA. We have planned for five (5) catered meals, (3 dinners & 2 breakfasts). We are also planning two (2) continental breakfasts. Our opening meet and greet will also have catered finger foods for the participants enjoyment. We have planned a visit to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Keyport WA for attendee’s so they can get a better idea of what goes on below the sea surfaces by the US Navy to protect our country. There will be plenty of free time for attendees to explore the surrounding area of the Kitsap Peninsula. Cost for this rally is $298.00 for 2 people/$149.00 for 1 person, this does not include campground fees. Contact Eagle Tree RV Park @ (360) 598-5988 to make your reservations, a rate of $40.37 per night has been negotiated with the campground, this includes early arrivals and late departures. When making campground reservations let them know you are with the Newmar Kountry Klub group.
Our long time Treasurers Maureen and Burl Todd have informed us that they will be stepping down from this position after the last 7 years. We want to thank them for their contributions to making the Evergreen Aires Chapter what it is today. There leadership will be missed. Therefore we are soliciting for any volunteers that would be interested in filling this position. If you are interested, please contact us, we would love to hear from you.
May God bless and keep you safe as you travel around our beautiful country.
