Bob & Mary Sue Briggs (24718) | bobbriggs1@juno.com
We are new to this position so let us introduce ourselves to you. Every now and then you can hear a little bit of an east coast accent from one of us. Mary Sue is from Maine and Bob is from Massachusetts. We were married in Massachusetts in 1974. In the years that followed, we both finished our college degrees, started a small hobby farm and had two daughters. In 1990, we decided to be adventurous and moved to the Midwest. Bob began a position with a small manufacturing firm and Mary Sue accepted a job as an elementary school principal in Delano, Minnesota. When opportunity knocked again two years later, we moved to Menomonie, Wisconsin. Our careers continued in education and manufacturing but this time Bob commuted between two facilities, one in Wisconsin and one in New Jersey. We later moved to New Jersey and lived there for 5 years before moving back to the Midwest to be closer to our daughters. Our careers continued to allow us to grow and move between Minnesota and Wisconsin for the next 15 years.
In 2019, our daughter Sarah passed away from ovarian cancer. When we think of Sarah, we realize how quickly life can change and that there is no time like to present to fulfil your dreams. So in November, we bought our first RV – a new 2020 Newmar Bay Star Sport. We put it into storage for the winter and began Amazon shopping for all the things that everyone said we would need. We had no idea what a poop hose was or how to use it, but we knew we needed it! We also had no idea what it sounded like when your catalytic converter was stolen, but we soon found out! We are no longer the linen sheets and room service kind of folks! We are now the check-the-black-tank and fill-the-gas-tank kind of folks. We have joined several chapters, attended lots of rallies and met many wonderful people. We’ve also learned what to do and not to do with a poop hose!
We have served as the president and secretary for the Missouri chapter of the Mid-MO Wanderlusts. We are honored to be serving as the new Missouri State Directors.
