Darrell & Jeanette Wehmeier (22133) | firstname.lastname@example.org
Darrell & Jeanette Wehmeier live in Topeka, Kansas, and winter in McAllen, Texas. Darrell retired from International Gaming Technology and Jeanette retired from nursing at Stormont Vail/Cotton O’Neil Clinic.
We purchased a used Newmar in November 2016. After spending the winter reading how to operate the motorhome, we needed help! So, we looked for answers with the Newmar Kansas Kountry Sunflower’s Klub in the summer of 2017. Upon the advice of the Sunflower’s, we attended the International Rally that fall and were exposed to the finest and most caring individuals we have ever met. The next year, the Kansas Kountry Sunflower’s had roped us into being officers, and this year they led us to the greener pastures of being State Directors.
The past three years of owning a Newmar have expanded our volunteer opportunities. The winter of 2017-2018 saw us rebuilding homes in Port Arthur, TX after Hurricane Harvey. The fall of 2018 to January 2019 found us in Gardner, KS building a new 2,000 sq ft addition to a church. This past fall we were building a 12,000 sq ft children’s/youth wing extension to a church when the derecho hit Cedar Rapids, IA and the project was destroyed. The 120 mph winds flipped a new 2019 Valino 5th wheel onto our motorhome, totaling both. We found another used Newmar and are planning to return in April 2021 to rebuild. The church still needs a youth wing.
Darrell enjoys woodworking, cabinet making, constructing buildings, and helping friends and organizations. Jeanette maintains a multistate nursing license and does blood pressure checks for the members of the McAllen Mobile Park over the winter.
Today, with or without COVID-19 restrictions, retirement provides us with many ways to share our Faith, labor, skills, and talent with others. Our retirement goal is to use these gifts God gave us to share with others.
Hope to see everyone on the road. Stay safe and God Bless all.
