During our 52 years of marriage, we raised two children in Andover, Kansas. Once our children graduated from high school, we purchased property in Arkansas and proceeded to build our home on Beaver Lake.
In Arkansas, Larry worked for an engineering firm in Rogers and Myra worked as a business analyst for FTD out of Chicago.
Our love of camping began with tents, pop-ups, and fifth wheels. “Crackerbox” our first 18-foot Class A motorhome could be passed on the highway by a three year old on a tricycle, but we took many family vacations and celebrated birthdays in Crackerbox. We grew to love the convenience of traveling in a Class A motorhome including baking the birthday cakes while heading to our next destination.
It was only natural that once our careers started winding down we yearned to return to motorhome travel. Since retirement in 2018, we have visited all but three states in the United State which are still on our bucket list. We enjoyed the Newmar Rallies in Branson, Missouri; Key West Florida; and the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We have also traveled with caravans to Alaska and the Maritime Provinces of Canada.
Now we are ready to focus our travels in the state where we live and are looking forward to sharing the beauty of Arkansas with fellow Newmar owners.
