Texas State Directors
Summer has definitely arrived in Texas, and many of us RVers are happily traveling to places that are not quite so “toasty.” It isn’t that we don’t love Texas but rather we just enjoy visiting other places as well!
At this time, we want to wish our sincere condolences to one of our members, Neal Cooper. On June 2nd his wife, Dayna, passed away from heart failure. We will miss her bright smile and outgoing personality and our prayers and support continue for Neal.
The summer season is quiet for chapter activities in Texas, but we are all looking forward to the fall season when rallies begin again. The schedule is listed in the Klub Calendar schedule on the Newmar website, and we Texans are always eager to meet new people who wish to attend our rallies. Just register and show up. We will make you feel welcome and guarantee that you will have a good time.
Currently the only Kountry Klub chapter in Texas is the Kountry Lone Stars South. The chapter has 60+ coaches and the numbers are rapidly growing. There has been ongoing conversation about starting an additional Chapter for the convenience of traveling shorter distances and also being able to find RV parks with facilities large enough to accommodate our group. The negative part of having multiple chapters is that our members don’t want to lose the friendships and fun we have with all being part of the same chapter. It is probably inevitable that additional chapters will be formed, and we would love to have input from our members. Additionally, with starting new chapters, we will need to have members who wish to take leadership roles. Please be thinking about this and looking toward future plans.
Don’t forget, we have talked about having “gatherings.” If you are planning a trip somewhere, just post it on our website and invite people to join you….no group planning, no scheduled activities, spur-of-the moment meals if you want, and lots of good times with your new and/or old friends.
