We are excited for our Fall Rally at the Manistique Lakeshore Campground centrally located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (UP) on beautiful Lake Michigan! Our dates show an arrival of September 5 (Thursday) and departure September 8 (Sunday). Come early or stay later. Campground reservations can be made starting January 1 either online or via phone. Look for event details on the NKK Klub Calendar. The campground is within easy walking and driving distance of many unique attractions: Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, beaches, golfing, lighthouses, waterfalls, winery, Kitch-iti-Kipi (The Big Spring), local shops, and Manistique Boardwalk and River Walk. From Manistique, the Hugo’s plan to explore the MI UP for a few weeks. Contact them if you’d like their schedule to join them.
Back to 2023…Our early September Michigan Great Lakers/ Michigan Aire Kampers joint rally arrival began with big rain that transitioned to beautiful Michigan fall weather. We were blessed with all we love about glamping – shared time and conversations with treasured friends, beautiful campground, beautiful area to explore, shared meals, and evening campfires. September 9 was National Teddy Bear Day. We took Peking (our panda) and his best friend Tiger to Sleeping Bear Dunes to celebrate – Beautiful! While we were enjoying a potluck dinner, Peking hosted a stuffed animal party with jokes, books, puzzles – FUN! Why aren’t teddy bears ever hungry? They’re always stuffed.
We then traveled to Sedalia, Missouri for the NKK International Rally stopping at two Harvest Hosts on the way. Our favorite was Buttermilk Forty Alpacas Farm just outside Sedalia. The International Rally was great fun – connecting with friends, learning, socializing, volunteering, creating crochet pumpkins, and trips to the Missouri Star Quilt Company and Warm Springs Ranch (breeding facility of the Budweiser Clydesdales).
As we’re writing this note, the Michigan fall colors are gorgeous! We’re taking Gracie, our coach, to her Freightliner and Midway RV Center annual appointments with the bonus of a fall color tour! Soon it will be transitioning time – winterizing or traveling south. We will leave the day after Thanksgiving stopping in Stone Mountain, Georgia for a few days to experience the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for their “Garden Lights, Holiday Nights” event and either the zoo or aquarium. We’ll end up in Port Charlotte, Florida for the winter season. If you’re ever in the area, please contact us! Contact Info: pdhugoteam@gmail.com or Paul 616-540-1011/Diana 616-540-1012.
Take Care! Stay Safe and Healthy! We look forward to seeing you down the road!
