Indiana State Directors
As we sit here putting these few thoughts together, we are experiencing a little reminder of why we enjoy life in the Northern end of Indiana. We got up this morning to Negative 10 degrees F with wind gusts to 50 MPH and “Feels Like” temperature of Negative 34 Degrees. Fortunately, our snowfall has been only about 3 inches, but we are waiting to see what the Lake Effect Snow will deliver.
We hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and you’re still having a very Happy New Year. It won’t be long till we “Northern” folks start waking up our rigs and getting them out of hibernation and ready for a lot of camping in 2023. We’re hoping for a very busy camping season with several rallies and a lot of opportunities to see and hang out with friends, both Newmar and other groups.
Indiana promises to be a busy place this year with the Tri-State Rally which will be held at the Shipshewana South campground May 25-29. The participating chapters are the Michigan Great Lakers, the Michigan Aire Kampers, the Ohio Buckeye Travelers, the Ohio Lake Erie Drifters and the Indiana Hoosier Kountry Klub. The rally host is Kathy Morren, President of the Michigan Great Lakers. The campground is accepting reservations now. Any questions about the rally should be addressed to Kathy at diamondtack@sbcglobal.net.
The Indiana State Rally was initially planned to be at the Prophetstown State Park at West Lafayette, Indiana, June 22-25. Being a very popular State Park with great camping facilities, the Full Hook Up area filled almost as soon as reservations were made available. WE HAVE MOVED THE RALLY LOCATION to the CERAland Park in Columbus, Indiana, with Arrival Thursday, June 22 and Departure Sunday, June 25. Campground reservations for 2023 opened January 2, so you can make your reservation now. When contacting CERAland, refer to the Newmar Kountry Klub Rally. Reservations are to be made at: CERALAND@CERALAND.ORG or by calling 812-377-5849. Mention Newmar Kountry Klub with your reservation request.
Rally registration can be done on the NKK Website in Klub Calendar / All Events / Region Six / Indiana State Rally; fill out the individual information form and submit – BOOM! You are registered. Or, you can register via email to pdthornbg@aol.com. More details about the rally will be provided in the April/May Legacy.
You know – – I’m not saying I’m old and worn out, but I make sure I’m nowhere near the curb on trash day.
– – – As I watch this current generation try to rewrite our society’s history, a couple of things I’m sure of … it will be misspelled and have no punctuation.
We look forward to seeing you all soon and frequently. Travel safely and stay safe….We can be contacted by email: sthornbg@aol.com or pdthornbg@aol.com, or telephone 574-329-9188.
