Region Seven Directors
Greetings from Region Seven. Rally season is in full swing in Region Seven. Since hosting our rally in early May we have attended three more rallies in the past four weeks. We have been looking forward to the rallies to get to know all the wonderful members in the region.
First up was the New England State Rally hosted by Jim & Donna McAllister. This brought us to the beautiful coastline of Maine and fresh lobster. Bob & Jane Hadley were also attending the rally. So good to see them camping again.
After taking a break for Memorial Day we attended the New York State Rally in Verona, New York, hosted by John & Diane Svatek. The rally included a canal boat tour down the historic Erie Canal. During the rally we ran into several NKK members who just happened to be traveling through the area. We were able to share experiences when they joined us for dinner.
The final rally for now was with the West Penn Travelers in Waterford, Pennsylvania hosted by Ron & Debbie Leofsky. They held a very successful weekday rally from Monday-Friday. This included a tour of the Lucille Ball/Desi Arnaz Museum, The National Comedy Club and they served as crew on the US Brig Niagara, a square rigger sailboat, on Lake Erie. Fun fact for any Trekkies in the audience, Star Trek would not exist today without Lucille Ball. The show was about to be cancelled after the initial pilot episode. With support and pressure from Lucille Ball, a second pilot was filmed, and the rest is history.
We met many members of Region Seven and had a great start to the season. Rallies were also held by the Lakers and New England Aires that we couldn’t attend due to conflicts with state rallies.
The Klub needs volunteers to keep going and several of our chapters started the year with officer openings. After the initial rallies we are pleased to report that all offices in all chapters have been filled. Many thanks to everyone who stepped up to support their chapter. As mentioned, we couldn’t do this without all the volunteers!
While there were many rallies happening, there were also many being planned. The region is off to a quick start for 2024 with the region rally and three state rallies already planned and booked.
September will bring our first International as Region Directors. We are really looking forward to it.
