Pennsylvania State Directors
Wow, how time flies when you’re having fun! We started out the month of September by attending the Penn’s Friends Rally in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania hosted by Nancy Imler & Sue Brennaman. They did a fabulous job, keeping everyone busy with bus tours, the Museum, dinners, and the list goes on. This is an area so rich in history, no matter how many times you go there, you can always learn more.
From there, Sue & I hosted the Pennsylvania State Directors Rally seven-day caravan to the International Rally. We had a two day stop in Buckeye Lake, Ohio. Then onto Terra Haute, Indiana. Then onto three days in Columbia, Missouri. Each stop offered a dinner on arrival, continental breakfast, museum tours, the Clydesdales Breeding Farm tour, then onto the Big Rally in Sedalia. We started out with 17 coaches and ended up with 22 coaches at the end.
The International Rally was a huge success as always and enjoyed by all. We ended up with 22 coaches representing Pennsylvania, Of course, as in years past, the two Pennsylvania Chapters were asked to host the “Caring & Sharing” Booth. From Friday to Friday, each member took turns two at a time manning the two tables for Salvation Army and the Sedalia Animal Shelter. Along with these two organizations, we gathered stuffed animals for our 1st Responders and State & Local Police, as well as soda can tops for the Ronald McDonald House.
We ended up with POUNDS of can tops and 350 stuffed animals. For the animal shelter, we collected over 650 lbs. of dog and cat food, over 50 bottles of Dawn detergent and bleach, and over 60 rolls of paper towels, as well as cardboard flats and $5,540.50. For the Salvation Army, we collected over 350 lbs. of food, 25 boxes of personal hygiene products and $9,179.10.
Sue & I could not be more proud of our Pennsylvania Chapter members for their dedication for these causes and to ALL the Newmar Owners who gave so generously, to these causes. May God Bless you richly for your giving. Keep our Military and Law Enforcement in your prayers!
We are now in our Fort Myers location for the winter and looking forward to seeing a lot of friends through the winter. We can be reached at 570-470-3631 or burke119@outlook.com.
