New York State Directors
Since we last wrote, we attended the Lakers Daisy Barn Rally, hosted by Dave & Karen Woodward with Paul & Kay Mayer. Next, we went to New England for their Normandy Farms Rally thanks to the efforts of hosts Andy Couto & Christine Patnode, and Jim & Donna McAllister.
Heading to the International Rally in Sedalia, Missouri, we joined the Pennsylvania caravan. Wayne & Sue Burke and Tom Watson once again outdid themselves in planning the stops, activities and meals along the way. The International Rally brought back memories of our first rally in 2017. We volunteered in several capacities and enjoyed the opportunity to meet many of the attendees. One highlight was getting together with the other New York State attendees. New York tied with Indiana in tenth place for states with the most coaches, with eleven units. Thanks to Steve & Joanne Wyble for getting the state directors from Region Seven together. We appreciated the time to share ideas and concerns with each other.
Leaving Sedalia brought us to Branson, Missouri where we joined the Showtime in Branson Special Event at the very last minute due to a cancellation. Sue & Jerry Argabrite kept us busy with a jam-packed schedule. Look for their future offerings.
We moved on to Scottsdale, Arizona for a family wedding, which coincided with the Utah/Arizona state rally hosted by Duane Paige & Laurie Hunt. We were able to take part in some rally activities around the wedding events. Thanks for including us.
By attending out-of-state rallies, we learn from other chapter officers, regional and state directors. We appreciate new perspectives, and we’ve met many wonderful people along the way. We’re also spreading the news of all that New York State has to offer.
June 6-9 will see the New York State Rally being held at the Finger Lakes RV Resort in Hector, New York, along Seneca Lake north of Watkins Glen. We will tour Seneca Lake and there are many area activities and events to enjoy. Look for details online at the Newmar Kountry Klub Calendar. Register there and book your campsite by December 31, 2023.
