Bill & Carrie Lasner – Presidents

Greetings all NKK Members, first let me introduce myself.  My name is Bill Lasner, the New President of the Chesapeake Travelers Chapter, for the NKK. For those not aware, our chapter covers the state of Maryland, Delaware, and District of Columbia.  The Chesapeake Travelers Chapter was formed only one year ago at the Region 7 Rally held in Pennsylvania by Region Directors Steve & Joanne Wyble. At that time Kelly Solsman accepted the position of President and I accepted as Vice President.  Being a brand new chapter, both Kelly and I had a lot to learn, and the members of the NKK Region 7 have been invaluable assisting and teaching us. We made our way thru the first year, and eventually set up our Inaugural Rally in April of 2024. Kelly Solsman did an outstanding job leading the chapter for the first year and held a fantastic event with 10 coaches in attendance. Following that event Kelly Solsman made the difficult decision to step down as president, and I assumed that roll.

Now that everyone is up to date, on to new business. Obviously being a new chapter, our first priority and main struggle is getting the word out about the existence of the NEW Chesapeake Travelers Chapter and registering new members to help us expand. As the new President of Chesapeake Travelers, I hope to serve all NKK members as well as our regional and state directors have shown us is possible.  First and foremost, our chapter needs to fill the vacant position of Vice President.  Obviously, any NKK Member from the Maryland Delaware DC area can join the Chesapeake Travelers Chapter and help us move forward.  I encourage and welcome any and all NKK members interested in joining us, to please reach out to myself at edge2edge@comcast.net (cell 443-677-9716) or contact another one of our founding members, and serving as our outstanding Chapter Treasure Tom DeBusk at tndebusk20@aol.com (301-885-6631). 

Seeing that the Chesapeake Travelers Chapter represents the Maryland Delaware and DC areas, we are very excited to get more members involved from the different states. After all it is YOUR Chapter too, and the more members we have the more opportunities we have for expanding events into the different states.

Currently we are planning for our 2025 Rally to be held in the Delaware area. We are always open to new ideas and different opportunities available. If you have locations for events and rallies you would like to see and participate in, please let us know.  More information on the 2025 Rally and a Chesapeake Travelers Chapter “Meet & Greet” will be coming soon.
