Arizona and Utah State Directors
Hello Newmar Family! While all of you are welcoming the warmer weather of summer, we are beginning to heat up here in the desert southwest beyond what we welcome! It occurred to me, although in hindsight it seems obvious, that our rally calendar is the exact opposite of pretty much everyone else, except maybe Florida. We have only a limited number of weeks out of the year where we can get a rally planned and find a place to hold it. In the first quarter of the year our parks around Phoenix are filled to the brim with snowbirds and avid spring training fans. If we try to go outside the city, you can quickly run into frigid weather including ice and snow. That is also the case the last quarter of the year. Then the middle of the year it is so blazing hot in the valley that no one in their right mind would come to a rally here and areas up in the mountains end up being filled with people from the valley getting out of the heat and the summer tourists that come from all over during the summer months to visit both Arizona and Utah’s beautiful state parks.
All of this occurred to me as Duane & I tried to plan a state rally for this year. We were able to find an RV Resort able to accommodate us October 26-30, for our Arizona/Utah State Rally. Come join us for a wonderful time just outside of Phoenix in North Scottsdale! Eagle View RV Resort is nestled in the mountains with views of the McDowell, Red, Four Peaks and Superstition Mountains. You’ll see the majestic resident and transient bald eagles that nest and spend time in this peaceful, gorgeous setting. We’ll be close to all that the city has to offer while also feeling far away from the hustle and bustle. You’ll surely have a good time making new friends, striking out on new adventures, and making cherished memories. And we’ll feed you pretty well too! Our travels this year have us home in that summer heat for the first time in a couple of years. We will be in Coalville, Utah for the Pathfinders rally early in June then we head home to Phoenix area until the end of July. We are attending the Newmar Alaska Cruise at the end of July through the first week in August and are very much looking forward to traveling with our Newmar Family in a different way than we ever have before. A couple of weeks post cruise we are planning to head back to Michigan to visit family and friends and maybe even stop at Newmar for a tour of the build floor. Then we will make our way towards Sedalia, Missouri for the Newmar International Rally. Lastly, we will meander our way back to Phoenix to host our own rally as we mentioned above.
Those are the makings of hosting, attending, traveling (by ship and RV) in our wonderful Newmar second home! Hope all of you have many adventures planned and that you all arrive home safely afterwards. Until next time…
