New Mexico State Directors
We had our state rally at Santa Fe in September. Highlights included a great time at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, enjoying a private cooking demonstration followed by dinner. Food was fantastic and plentiful!
After a visit to the Pecos National Monument, which was fascinating, we enjoyed lunch at the nearby hillside home of our co-hosts, Bob & Wendy Wilkerson. More than just a beautiful home it is an art studio and private art gallery. Quite beautiful! The view from the deck is spectacular! Thank you, Bob & Wendy for opening your home and co-hosting this rally.
In October we hosted 30 rigs for the highly popular Newmar Kountry Klub special event, a visit to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. The 51st edition was exciting, action packed with nearly perfect weather. The balloons flew every day with optimum wind patterns.
We had a fantastic group of attendees who were a pleasure to be with. Planning is already underway for next year. At the risk of sounding cliché this really is a “bucket list” event.
Our state rally for 2024 will be a two stop “caravan” scheduled for August 30th to September 7th. Our theme is “A Drive through Pueblo Culture: Modern Pueblo Culture and a Trip Back to the Beginning.” We will start in the Albuquerque area before moving to the “Four Corners.” We are creating an immersive itinerary including visits to modern and historical sites, and expert guest speakers. We will also have authentic cultural entertainment and demonstrations. Check the Klub Calendar for more information and availability.
It seems like we have been involved in a number of discussions lately about “what is a successful rally?” It’s a fascinating question that typically brings out a variety of opinions on the subject. As we ponder this, it occurs to us that for us a successful rally is: An opportunity to spend quality time with our Klub friends, getting to know each other better, drawing closer and as a huge bonus meeting new people who become our new friends.
By that measure 2023 was a huge success. We are very excited about 2024.
