New Mexico Chile Peppers Chapter – Presidents
The New Mexico Chile Peppers Chapter continues to grow and be busy! Our membership has now increased by over 100% in the last year. This is due to the hard work of all officers and our Membership Chairperson, Cindy Newman. In addition, many of our members have gone to other chapter and state rallies and have recruited others to join. Our chapter’s reputation is growing, and we are even being asked to co-host rallies. What a compliment! We have been very active in the last few months as this is prime RV season here in New Mexico. Our sold-out rally in Ruidoso, New Mexico was very successful, we had another successful luncheon held in Albuquerque, we have worked with our State Directors, Jim & Lorie Landers, to support their September rally in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and have made arrangements to have our 2024 Chapter Rally in Angel Fire, New Mexico. Plus, are working on the next State Rally for 2024/2025. Yes, it has been busy…and good!
Most recently we held a well-attended luncheon sponsored by Myers RV in Albuquerque. While they are the only Newmar Dealer in the state, their showroom and service area have undergone a significant renovation and they are first rate. Talking to the group was Jeff Myers who owns the operation as well as his father, John. They have been in business since 1978 and we could see why! They are offering special discounts to chapter members and, because of the low sales tax and the ability of out-of-state residents to register yearly in New Mexico, discussed why people come to Albuquerque to buy an RV. The pizza, salad, drinks and cookies were a big hit and were supplied by Myers from a local pizza joint, Dion’s Pizza. Yum! Our chapter photographer and club officer, Wendy Wilkerson, took a few pictures, below. You can see smiles on all faces and happy bellies on all the bodies!
Cindy & I have attended the State Rally in Santa Fe, went off to the International Rally and the Branson tour. We also attended the Region One Rally and went to a number of other areas with our coach. We expect to put about 15,000 miles on our Dutch Star this year!
