Chuck & Lynda Gumeson (22459)
Colorado State Directors & Colorado Kruisin Aires – Presidents
We hope this finds you somewhere out on the road in your wonderful coach and enjoying your favorite end of summer activities. Chuck & I are currently in Middlebury, Indiana staying at a hotel, and awaiting being reunited with our coach tomorrow. It is having its annual maintenance at the “mothership”, along with some other items that needed attention. Installation of a new windshield and upholstery recovering have sent us off to a hotel for a few days, so we’ve been making the very best of our time here in Amish country. It is so lovely here and we have really enjoyed seeing lots of new countryside and visiting some places we had not had time to see on prior visits.
We will be heading to northern Michigan after our Nappanee visit, and from there, off to Sedalia. I see that we already have about 13 of our Colorado members coming to Sedalia, too! We’ll have some kind of gathering there.
I wanted to give you a head’s up for an opportunity you may be interested in pursuing. Our friends in the New Mexico Chili Peppers have informed us that they are holding their chapter rally at Angel Fire, New Mexico, next June. Their rally will be held from June 5th-8th. I know that many of you have requested that we take a look at holding a rally at this very beautiful and special location! The Chili Peppers will have limited available sites there, but I wanted to give you all the opportunity to try and snag a spot at their rally. Register on the Klub Calendar, search for New Mexico Chile Peppers Chapter Rally.
It turns out that we will be having our Colorado Kruisin Aires Rally from June 10th-13th, and it will be held in either Grand Junction, or Parachute. Chuck & I need to get the time to travel to both of the possible sites to make our final decision, but the dates will remain the same. There would be, however, enough time for you to travel from Angel Fire, New Mexico to Grand Junction from the end of one rally, to the beginning of our rally. It is 368 miles from Angel Fire to Grand Junction.
We are going to attempt to hold our Colorado Kruisin Aires chapter rally in June of 2025, at Angel Fire, also, so there will hopefully be another opportunity for you to go to Angel Fire if the 2024 New Mexico Chili Peppers rally gets sold out quickly.
We have been able to procure sites in Granby for our Colorado State Rally in 2024. It will be September 9th with a departure of September 13th at the Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountains. This is a beautiful, fairly new, resort. It is one of our very favorites! We are trying to get 25-30 sites.
Both of these Colorado rallies (State Rally and CKA Chapter Rally) are not yet on the NKK Events Calendar as we are still working out some details. I will let you know the very day that both of these events (Grand Junction/Palisade 2024 and Granby 2024) are listed on the NKK website so that you can sign up immediately to get a site before they sell out.
Please never hesitate to put yourself on any waitlist for any NKK State or Chapter or Regional Rally. Every NKK rally always has cancellations! And your chances are very good for an opportunity to attend the rally of your choice even when it shows it is “sold out”. Never give up!
We will be having our annual meeting and luncheon on Friday, November 10th at the Castle Rock Library in the event room. I am told that November 10th is the birthday of the Marines! It will be the day celebrated as Veterans Day this year, and we will be celebrating our vets that day, too! So far, I know that we have the following vets in our membership. Jerry Henderson served for 26 years in the Air Force. Mike Wright served in the Army from 1966 through 1969. Doris Bell served in the Marine Corps. And Jo Ann Lewandowski is a Gold Star Widow. Please let me know if we have missed anyone in our chapter so that we can recognize your service. Thank You for your service! Please remember to “Thank a Vet” for their service, not just on Veterans Day, but everyday! We are all so appreciate for those who have served! Please mark your calendars!
See you all down the road! Don’t hesitate to contact us with any ideas, questions, or comments! Texts or emails are best. We can be reached at email: chuckandlynda@gmail.com Chuck’s cell phone: 303-941-0907 Lynda’s cell phone: 303-907-8211.
