Chuck & Lynda Gumeson (22459)
Colorado State Directors/Kruisin Aires Presidents
Greetings from unseasonably warm Centennial, Colorado! At least it’s snowing up in our mountains which has added a wonderful soft layer of powder for pretty good skiing this season. Chuck can be found up at the Winter Park Resort every week enjoying a great day playing on the challenging mogul slopes on the Mary Jane side of the resort.
In between ski trips, he has been working hard doing another winter project for our 2018 New Aire. This year, he ended up completely remodeling the wet bay with some great improvements including a Sani-Con macerator. The bay now looks awesome and operates beautifully. It was quite the challenge, but he is glad to have it done just in time to roll out the coach for some springtime fun, as we are heading to Arizona next week. If you are attending one of our rallies, he’d love to show it off and give you some ideas of how he accomplished this latest project. As you might know, his hobby is working on our motorhome! And he is always happy to share his knowledge and the lessons he has learned along the way to perfection on our lovely, and loved, Newmar coach.
We hope you are frequently checking out all of the NKK Calendar to discover the many opportunities for you to travel and explore different areas of the country with like-minded Newmar folks. There are so many rally offerings, and you can often pick out ones that are close to your scheduled travel routes. These rallies are all so informational, fun, adventure filled, and they will also give you a perfect opportunity to meet new friends and reconnect with others. We know you’ll have a great time while learning lots of things about your Newmar coach.
We will be hosting our Colorado Kruisin Aires chapter Rally in Palisade, Colorado from June 10th for a 3-night event. We have filled our 25 sites but are always happy to take names for our waitlist and encourage you to sign up for this if it might fit into your travel schedule.
Our big event this summer will be the International which is being held here in Colorado! We are the proud host state and would love to greet you as you arrive in Pueblo at the Colorado State Fairgrounds. Shine up your boots and get your cowboy on so you can be ready to enjoy some truly western hospitality, and activities in Colorado. We’ll be volunteering on the parking and registration crew, so be sure to stop by and introduce yourselves to us. We can’t wait to see you here!
Then, if you are still in Colorado in September, we currently have space for the Colorado State Rally, which will be an arrival on Monday, September 9th for a 4-night event. We are hosting this event, and it will be held at the beautiful Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountain RV Resort which is in Granby, Colorado. This venue is only about 20 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park and 16 miles from the quaint rustic western town of Grand Lake. If the snow holds off, a drive over Trail Ridge Road would be a stunning side trip that you might enjoy. At over 12,000 ft in elevation, this is a drive you will only want to take in your toad! This beautiful 48-mile drive over Trail Ridge will take you to the tourist town of Estes Park. September is bright with the golden glow of the changing aspen trees, and it is also the beginning of the Elk rut season, and these animals are just spectacular to see and hear. As the campground is over 8,000 ft. in elevation, the evenings and early mornings are very cool and crisp, but the daytime hours are typically comfortable and dry. We currently have a place for you and would welcome you to join us!
