Chuck & Lynda Gumeson (22459)
Colorado State Directors/Kruisin Aires – Presidents
As we sit here in Centennial, Colorado in a snowstorm, it is certainly fun to think about the upcoming excitement of climbing back into the Magic Bus and getting those wheels turning down the highway for springtime travels! We will head south to Arizona, and then on to Texas and finally get the opportunity to visit Florida. We have signed up for a couple of rallies and look forward to a few new adventures in uncharted territory (for us!).
Then back to Colorado to finish up getting ready to host the Colorado State/Colorado Kruisin Aires Rally. This will be held in Durango this year and the arrival date is Monday, June 19th with a departure of Thursday, June 22nd. We have 19 coaches signed up to stay at the Alpen Rose RV Park and we currently have a total of three on our waiting list. If you have any interest in joining us, we’d love to add you to our wait list! Please just reach out to Lynda or Chuck and let us know. There are always cancellations and for our past two rallies, we had folks who had to change their plans and we had no one to fill those spots! So please don’t hesitate to sign up to try and join us. You might just get lucky!
We are always looking for ideas of locations for upcoming rallies so stay tuned to the Klub Calendar on the Newmar Kountry Klub website. We owe a huge thank you for all of our great and supportive chapter members who have stepped up to help with the activities and food for our rallies. This should help to allow us to hold additional rallies here in Colorado. Share any venue ideas with us! We can always use a few folks who would be willing to host a rally, or to co-host one of our rallies. All ideas WELCOME!
Thank you, Rick & Michelle Haugen, who have planned the activities for our Durango Rally. We will be offering a historical tour of Durango, an Art Tour, a dinner at the Bar D Chuckwagon, and a half day Jeep tour in the San Juan mountains. This 4X4 tour will include the history of the area and geologic highlights. A progressive dinner is also planned.
Many of our participants have added a few extra days in the area in order to take advantage of the many other activities available. Chuck & I attended college in that area so it will be fun to return to our old stomping grounds and see how things have changed since the late 60’s! It is indeed a beautiful part of our great state!
