California State Directors
Hey, hey, hey, it’s your wonderful, exciting, and overall nice guy, your California State Director coming to you live from the Golden State. Oh, you say, it’s that guy again. What does he want now? Well, it’s the bi-monthly article time for the NKK Legacy magazine. So, first and as always, the beautiful blond one & I wish you good health, sunshiny days, and the good fortune to share your lotto winnings with us.
As I sit on the humble rear end, looking out my sliding glass door at the beautiful reddish-brown sunset, I hear the words of the newscaster saying, The Los Angeles/Long Beach area is number 1 in the worst cities for Ozone pollution in the USA. “WOW”, does it get any better than this? Number 1 in the nation. Further, the newscaster is now saying the California population just keeps on shrinking. “WOW”, more positive remarks about the Golden State, but let’s just say this news is just for Southern California and we won’t talk about those north of SoCal. So, what does one do with all this good news coming from my beloved state?
Airhorn blasting and rear wheels laying rubber on the roadway, I pull a reverse snowbird with a double backward flip where I stick the landing in the driver’s seat. Northbound and down with the beautiful blond one in the passenger seat and “The mother-in-law” on the couch. Get the visual? So where do I go? Luckily in the years of knowing how to plan, I am heading north. First, we will stop to see an RV dealership which sales Newmar coaches and then off to the California 49er rally in Monterey for an enjoyable 5 days. Screeching halt! The Oasis is showing a fault light. A quick check shows the compressor light flashing. Reset try several times, a call to ITR to find a fix and guess what, the wires leading into the Oasis are burnt and melted. On top of this, the EMS screen is spinning volts and amp numbers like a slot machine. This just can’t be good, I just spent $1,800.00 to get the coach ready for my summer travels. Oh well, immediate plans now canceled, 49er rally canceled and coach going back to the repair shop. I wonder if my neighbor is a kind and good neighbor to let me pull some money off his money tree? If not, I wonder how much I can get for “The mother-in-law” to pay this upcoming coach repair bill? (Bidding starts at $5K and all bids are confidential.) So, I must get the coach repaired before May 10. We have a California State Rally to host starting May 14. More to follow in my next article.
So, for now I must go. Duty calls and my honey-do list awaits my expertise. Until my next and exciting California State Director Legacy article, be safe and keep those Newmar coaches rolling safely along the highway. We can be reached at email tvsolomon@aol.com, or cell 951-634-8065.
