Bear & Robin Abraham (22482)
Minnesota State Directors
Like us, are you asking yourselves “where did Summer go”? We can’t remember this beautiful season coming and going so quickly! By now some of us have traveled to warmer places to keep the summertime vibe going, and others have winterized their coaches and look forward to rally season next year. Bear & I will be snowbirding at Happy Trails Resort in Surprise, Arizona again this winter.
In July the Minnesota Loons attended the Region Four Rally in the Amana Colonies in Iowa. We enjoyed tours, music in the park, great food and fun times with Newmar friends. Thank you, Judy & Paul, for the good time everyone had.
Bear & I attended the Kountry Klub cruise to Alaska. We have cruised before, but this was our first time to Alaska. We had a wonderful time. Of course, the scenery is stunning, and words can’t describe how beautiful the glaciers are. The opportunity to spend time with Kountry Klub friends made the trip extra special.
In August the Minnesota Loons attended our State Rally in Prior Lake, Minnesota. We visited the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum where we enjoyed a guided tram tour of the 1,200-acre gardens and woodlands. The Arboretum was originally founded as a research facility of the University of Minnesota’s Department of Horticulture. We learned that plants and fruits we are very familiar with were actually developed there. Examples include Northern Lights Azaleas, the Haralson apple (1913), the Honeycrisp apple (1988), and the Frontenac grape (1996). All were designed to be cold weather tolerant. We also visited the Minnesota Streetcar Museum, took a ride in a restored antique streetcar and learned how streetcars provided a vital service in public transportation, years ago.
We want to congratulate Duane Page & Laurie Hunt becoming our new International Directors. The Kountry Klub will be in excellent hands under their leadership.
Be sure to check the Kountry Klub’s Calendar frequently for upcoming rallies.
