Minnesota State Directors
Hello from Minnesota! Rally season is underway, and we hope this message finds you enjoying all that summer and rally season have to offer. There is much to choose from wherever you go.
The Minnesota Loons held their first rally of the season in St. Cloud, Minnesota. We toured the Veit Automotive Museum. This collection is housed in three vintage barns covering 31,000 square feet. In addition to the impressive vintage cars, we saw rare and unusual gas pumps from bygone days, vintage neon signs, pedal cars and so much more. A very fun afternoon. We also toured Park Industries. Founded in 1953, Park Industries has grown to become the largest stone working and metal equipment manufacturer in North America. They have 320 associates and are 100% family owned and operated.
The Loons chapter needed to make changes in officer positions. We thank Jeanette Shereck, Dave Rikke, and Kathy Raleigh for their years of service to the Minnesota Loons and for setting a wonderful example to follow…and we want to congratulate Steve Lindberg (President), Jeanette Shereck (V/P), Laurie Lindberg (Secretary), and Deb Danelski (Treasurer). We are grateful to you for accepting the torch passed to you. We know the Loons are in good hands.
In June, the Loons rallied in Granite Falls. Hosts Larry & Miriam have lived in this agriculture rich community all their lives. They were great tour guides. We enjoyed a visit to the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum. It is home to a pristine collection of fully operational, active aircraft and vehicles from WWII. So much history to learn about and learn from. We also enjoyed a tour of Pioneer PBS, an award-winning public television station dedicated to sharing local stories of the region with the world. A display wall showcases the 26 Emmys they have been awarded for their excellent programming. We visited downtown (great bakery), strolled the riverwalk and celebrated the Summer Solstice with Root Beer floats.
By the time this is published Loons’ members will have attended the Region Four Rally in the Amana Colonies in Iowa, and the Minnesota State Rally in Prior Lake. We are looking forward to the International Rally in Sedalia, Missouri. We think of it as a week-long family reunion; reconnecting with Klub members we’ve met at past rallies, sharing travel stories, good food and making new friends. Hope you plan to attend and enjoy all it has to offer.
