Virginia Wheels – Presidents
Hello Virginia Wheels Family. Gloria & I hope you are having a great summer with plans to travel in your motorhome! We are slowing down our travels this year and trying to catch our breath after a fun packed year in 2022. We are enjoying the rallies scheduled for this year and hope to see as many of you as possible! Also, welcome aboard to our new members.
Our Roanoke Valley Exploration Rally was a great success. Thank you to Jeanette & Danny Templeton who co-hosted the rally with Gloria & me. Also, a huge THANK YOU to Katie Taddeo for taking the time to set up and teach her wreath making class. I have no craft abilities, and under Katie’s excellent supervision I was able to make a wreath. That was a lot of fun and I hope we can keep Katie interested in offering different types of craft classes at our future rallies.
We had a fantastic time at our Virginia/North Carolina/South Carolina Mayberry Rally hosted by our own Charlie & Deane Grebinger and Carl & Gayle Webber. Mount Airy is always a fun town to visit and our hosts did a fantastic job entertaining and feeding us during the rally. We visit Mount Airy on a regular basis, as Gloria’s brother lives there. But it is always fun to go with lots of your friends. And for those who are seeing Mount Airy for the first time, all it has to offer.
We are looking forward to the Virginia State Rally August 22-27 at Candy Hill Campground in Winchester, Virginia. There are plenty of things to see and do up there and we always have a great time at the Virginia State Rally. Mike Vreeland, our state director always has a fun-filled agenda, and we really eat well too!
We are really looking forward to the International Rally in Sedalia, Missouri. That was our first International Rally we attended in 2017. We have such good memories and made some new lifelong friends, I think Sedalia will always be a special rally place for us. We are traveling with Virginia Wheelers Alan & Marilyn Bishop and doing some sightseeing along the way, Gloria & I lived in Kansas City, Missouri for nearly 18 years before being transferred to Virginia and then retiring here. So, we will play tour guide and share with them some of our favorite places.
Don’t forget the Region Five Rally in Camp Hatteras Resort October 13-17. Wanda & Gary, our Region Five Directors, have a reputation for providing superb rallies and everyone has a great deal of fun. You can leave Sedalia and mosey along the way, heading directly to the North Carolina Outer Banks. We look forward to another fun filled Region Five Rally.
Gloria & I hope that however close or far you choose to travel in your coach, you have fun and trouble-free travels. We look forward to seeing you during the rallies.
Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you on the road. We can be reached at tomrezentes@comcast.net Cell Phone 804-892-7727.
