Virginia Wheels – Presidents
It is hard to believe that we are winding down our summer travel schedule. It won’t be long, and fall will be here. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year to travel. Temps are cooler and colors are changing giving you lots of scenery from the road to admire and enjoy.
We had a granddaughter get married in Dallas in July. We departed the Mayberry Rally, drove the motorhome to our house, parked it and departed for the wedding. July proved to be a busy month for us! We decided not to drive the motorhome, or we would have needed to cancel the Mayberry Rally. So, it can rest for a short period while we travel by car.
We are really looking forward to our trip to Sedalia, Missouri. After the International Rally, Gloria & I will make our way down to Oklahoma and Texas to visit children, grandchildren, my nephew, and friends. It will be a fun time to spend some time with our family. Our grandchildren are growing so fast. We have two starting college this fall.
I’ve included a couple of pictures from our Roanoke Valley Rally for all to enjoy. The Virginia State Rally proved to be a great time and lots of fun. We had our Virginia Wheels meeting and election of officers. Winchester is a nice town and close to the West Virginia border. Lots of things for everyone to do. Good job Mike, and thanks for another fun rally.
Counting the days down until we depart for Sedalia and the International Rally. Can’t wait for some of that GREAT Kansas City BBQ! Really miss not being able to get that out here in Virginia. That is a real benefit when we travel with our home on wheels. Always able to bring some good food back home with us and not worry about it spoiling!
Also make sure you are registered for the Region Five Rally October 13-17. You can depart from the International and head back east just in time for another great rally from Gary & Wanda Smith. They have a reputation for being ace rally masters. We wish we could have coordinated our travel to attend, but we could not make it work.
Just want to say thank you to Ron & Wanda for serving the Kountry Klub as our International Directors. I know COVID really threw everyone for a loop, plans had to be changed and all that hard work came to a stop on planning our rallies. We appreciate your commitment to the Klub and look forward to seeing you both at many more rallies.
OK, now for some Breaking News…. I’ve scheduled our 2024 Rally for May 16-20, at the Holiday-Trav-L Park, 1075 General Booth Blvd, Virginia Beach, Virginia. You can phone them at 757-425-0249. Tell them you are with the Newmar Virginia Wheels Rally. I have reserved 25 sites and you may want to book your reservation sooner than later. We are still in the planning stages, but our good friends Ron & Ulaine Pelton who live in Virginia Beach have been a great source of help and information. Stay tuned for a fun packed rally!
