Phil & Charlene Budd (9488L)
Tennessee State Directors
October and November bring us three significant federal holidays. They are Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving Day. Please take time to ponder on the meaning of these holidays to you and your family, and the “World Changing” significance, and the people who we “Honor”!
As you read this, we are winding up at the 37th Newmar Kountry Klub International Rally at Sedalia, Missouri and headed for 2023 Region Five Rally on the Outer Banks, North Carolina.
As we wind down 2023, Charlene & I have given a lot of thought on our leadership position going into 2024. Our ages 81+ and 85+ tell us it is time to pass the baton. We have had a wonderful ride in some sort of leadership for 24 years. We joined NKK in 1999 and attended our first rally of any kind in June 2000 at NKK International, Gillette, Wyoming.
Tennessee had no “Chapter” at that time, and we left Wyoming as President and Secretary/Treasurer of “New” Chapter 72, Tennessee Volunteer Kruisers, along with 12 other Tennessee couples that were there at the International Rally.
We have “MORE” than “Enjoyed” the ride!!! Our term as Tennessee State Directors will come to an end 31 December 2023.
No, we are “NOT” selling our coach which we purchased in October 1999. We will enjoy, “Lord Willing”, sitting around the fire pit swapping lies with all of you for years to come. We thank everyone in the Newmar family who have mentored us along the way. We thank everyone who has crossed our paths at a rally we have hosted, and there have been many, these 24 years, and have come back time and time and time again. May God Bless each and every one of you. See you soon at a future rally.
In closing this October/November Legacy article, please join Charlene & I in continued prayer for Tri-State Director, Jim Watson, and Region Directors, Gary & Wanda Smith.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We can be reached at 931-638-2015 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
