Fresh, out of the garden vegetables!!! WooHoo, oh how we love sweet corn, green beans, purple hull peas, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and a nice farm to table porter house steak!!!! We are blessed to live very close to an Amish community to take all the work out of gardening. We used to have close to an acre of garden, and those of you who do gardening know you must work in it every day. Weeds grow faster than any plant. During my working career I was on the road 15 to 18 days a month and I finally gave up on gardening and we have taken the easy way out and buy from our Amish friends. Find yourself a “Farmers Market” or “CSA”, support your local agriculture industry!
We probably do like many of you do, when we get fresh sweet corn; That is all we eat along with ripe juicy tomatoes. We boil a couple dozen corns, slice five or six nice fresh juicy tomatoes, slather the corn with real butter, salt and pepper and, YES, pig out!
As we write this, we just completed our 2023 Tennessee State Rally, and Charlene & I want to thank all of you that attended. We thank “All” of you who jumped in and helped. Rallying is fun, rallying is building lifelong friendships, rallying is experiencing our wonderful and beautiful countryside, rallying is what RVing is all about. Don’t allow your RV to become a dust collector! Grab another couple and volunteer to host a rally. Rallies don’t have to be extravagant, start with a campfire and hot dogs, someone bring an old fashion crank ice cream maker and you have all the makings of a fun rally. Two RV’s make a rally, three RV’s make a better one! I think you get the gist, Keep it simple silly (KISS)!
Well, August, if you are rallying, make sure there are nice shade trees; Or wait until September….
We look forward to seeing everyone in Sedalia, Missouri at International, the Outer Banks for Region Five Rally, and the Florida Keys! We can be reached at 931-638-2015 or prbudd60@bellsouth.net.
