I’m writing this at the end of October, having just returned from a trip that took Carole and me from Kennesaw, Georgia, to Sedalia, Missouri to the Outer Banks at Camp Hatteras, North Carolina, and then back home. It was a long trip but WOW, what a trip it was. I’m sure that each one that reads this will agree that the memories that were made on a trip like this will last a lifetime.

Ron & Wanda Llewellyn put together another great international rally. It seemed that everything came together smoothly. The food was fantastic and of course none of that would have been as smooth without the many volunteers who made the rally complete. Carole & I were able to take both tours at International; The Kansas trip allowed us to see the Arcadia Steamboat Museum, great food at Jack Stack BBQ, and the Truman Presidential Library. The second trip was to the Clydesdale’s main location at Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, Missouri. The horses were magnificent too. Many thanks to Sue & Jerry Argabrite for the well-organized trips.

After leaving Sedalia we traveled through Lexington, Kentucky, where we visited with family, and then to Somerset, Kentucky to spend some time with my siblings. Then it was on to the Outer Banks.

Gary & Wanda Smith with co-hosts Carl & Gayle Webber delivered another fantastic rally. The weather was wonderful, except for one day. The Outer Banks are full of history, many light houses, and local museums. We toured the Chicamacomico Life Saving Station there. These stations were the foundation of and became the US Coast Guard. Simply amazing what they did for passengers on wrecked vessels.

Now it’s that time of year for family and friends to get together and celebrate life and plan for 2024. 2023 will be remembered for many things, great rallies, fun travels, awesome food, interesting places visited, and the loss of family and friends. Let’s continue to keep our membership strong by projecting our great family unity. To quote Gary Smith “Love God and Love Others”, and Lester Holt, “Take Care of Yourselves and Each Other”.
