Georgia Peach State Krackers – President
Our last article found us traveling from the Florida State Rally home and then preparing for our own chapter rally. We had 11 coaches in attendance, toured the Biblical History Center in LaGrange, Georgia, the KIA Plant in West Point, Georgia and had plenty of free time to enjoy the local area, which most attendees did. Great food was enjoyed by all, including a breakfast sandwich which Tom Mauldin cooked to perfection. We concluded our rally on Thursday evening with a Mexican Dinner to celebrate Cinco De Mayo at San Marcos restaurant in Pine Mountain, followed by a campfire gathering with all the fixings for smores. I believe we may have added a couple pounds at this rally. Many thanks to all those in attendance for their help along with Tom & Elaine Mauldin, our co-hosts, who helped make this rally a success.
Next, Carole & I took a deep breath for a few days before we headed up to Ellijay, Georgia for the Mid-South Tri-State Rally, hosted by Jim & Barb Watson. This rally was at The Talona Ridge RV Resort. This resort was a fantastic location and the views of a full 360 degrees were spectacular. I could write a whole page on this rally, but I will leave that to Jim & Barb.
Now the middle of June has sneaked upon us, and this week will officially launch summer vacations. People will have fun on various bodies of water and campgrounds throughout this country. With that thought in mind Carole & I decided to travel to Nashville to attend the National Indoor RV Centers (NIRVC) grand opening. This place is at least as big as the Atlanta location, with many bays and acres of beautiful storage space. If you are in the area, stop in for a visit and a tour of this beautiful facility.
Now we are back home, and we have a few weeks before we will enjoy the NKK Alaska Cruise. Please frequent the NKK website for all events and consider attending any rally you may be close to.
Let us always be mindful of those who are facing life’s struggles and especially Gary & Wanda Smith and Jim & Barb Watson.
