Alabama Dixie Aires Chapter – President
We sure picked the wrong time of year to stay in Florida. It has really been too hot to get out and do anything, unless you get out early in the morning. We have had several days that the heat index rose to 112-116, so we are really looking forward to some cooler weather. I’m sure by the time we travel to the Outer Banks the weather will be cooler.
We are very excited to be going to The Outer Banks in North Carolina for the Region Five Rally. Supposedly, October is the best month of the year to go to the Outer Banks, due to the weather being milder and not as many tourists in the area.
Orville & Wilbur Wright made their first successful airplane flight from Kitty Hawk where the Wright Brothers National Memorial is located. Cape Hatteras Light, which is located in Buxton, North Carolina is one of the most popular lighthouses in the world. It stands at 208 feet and is the world’s tallest brick lighthouse. Nag’s Head is home to the largest living sand dune system in the eastern United States. There is so much to see and enjoy in The Outer Banks.

Paul & Janice Berlin, Dixie Aires Members from Mississippi, have sold their Newmar Mountain Aire, but are still traveling. They have spent time in Mexico, Ohio and are currently in Michigan staying in motels. They also have plans to take a cruise to the Panama Canal. We will miss Paul & Janice and we wish them the best of luck in their adventures as they continue their travel of the US by other means of transportation.
Please remember Jim Watson, our Mid-South Tri State Director and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Jim’s wife, Barb, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Barb will be missed by many.
The Alabama Dixie Aires are looking for Newmar Kountry Klub Members who live in Alabama or Mississippi who want to meet other NKK members and join a local chapter. The Dixie Aires has one rally a year where members get together and enjoy good food, play games, attend events and attractions and sit around and talk about the Newmar product that they own. We have members with many years of experience and knowledge with their Newmar products that you can learn from. Also, when you make friends with a Newmar owner, you make friends for life.
