Bill Berg (20429)
Florida Sea Turtles – President
As you read this, hopefully you are enjoying your summer travels. Many of you will be heading to Missouri for the NKK International Rally. This year many of our Sea Turtles family members will be wandering around the US and into Canada and Alaska.
A group of six plus Sea Turtle coaches have banned together to participate in a Hop on – Hop off caravan in the Canadian Maritimes. An itinerary was created by a couple members with input from those who have been there before. Each couple is responsible for their own campground and activity reservations while keeping everyone interested informed. This is a great way to travel with friends. At last count, there will be about six core couples with other friends who have decided to hop on or hop off wherever and whenever it fits their schedule. We will be in the Maritimes for two full months taking in all four provinces including Newfoundland. Didn’t know we could get our rigs to float across the bay – a little help from the ferries.
When we return home this fall, the November and December rallies will be getting their final preparations completed. The November Rally is the 7th-10th and will be at the Moonshine Acres RV Park in Ft. White, Florida. I’ve never been there but love the name. Bill & Kathy Ducz will be the Rally Hosts and are planning some great events. Since this will be during Veterans week, the theme will be focused on Veterans and hopefully a special speaker will get scheduled.
The December Rally will be hosted by John & Chris Peitri. The dates are the 5th-8th and will be at the Madison RV & Golf Resort in Madison, Florida. This is in north Florida off I-10 west of I-75. Another new campground for the Sea Turtles and expecting it to be lots of fun.
The February and March rallies have not found a home, but we are still looking.
The Newmar Owner’s luncheon in Lakeland, Florida will resume on the 2nd Wednesday of each month starting in December on the 13th. Gathering starts at 11:30 at the Golden Corral at 4705 US Hwy 98 N. Good food and great fellowship for all to enjoy. Anyone who owns or wants to own a Newmar is welcome to attend.
Wishing everyone safe and healthy travels and look forward to meeting new friends during our journey. Make sure to monitor the NKK Website Calendar to keep up with any scheduling changes.
