Region Directors: Steve & Joanne Wyble (22701)
Greetings from Region 7! We would like to thank all those who attended the Region 7 Rally in Alexandria Bay. Especially the State Directors who “volunteered” to cook the two breakfasts and all the other volunteers who pitched in. Weather was beautiful for our very informative cruise to Dark Island and tour of Singer Castle. If you have never been there, we would highly recommend it. For a special treat, you can rent the castle for the night with up to six people. We did that a few years ago and had a great time. During the rally we collected enough food to fill a pickup bed and almost $300 to go with it. This went to the Alexandria Bay Food Cupboard.
Rallies are over and it is time to winterize and settle in or head south. Our choice is to head south. We will head down to get our site setup in early November and then return home for the holidays with our family (mostly playing with granddaughters).
Plans are underway for the 2025 Region 7 Rally in Bar Harbor on September 25-28, 2025. 50 FHU pull thru sites are being held at Timberland Acres. Reservations opened on November 1st and the sites are held until February 1st. Sites should still be available after February 1st but not right next to other rally attendees. Unlike our first two rallies, none of the group tours we have been checking on can accommodate the entire group. As an alternative we are looking into booking several tours to get group rates. While nothing is final at this time, we anticipate a Lobster Boat tour, Acadia Trolley tour and possible a sunset cruise. Still working on meals, being Maine there will be lobster involved. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the retirement of Pennsylvania State Directors Wayne & Sue Burke. They chartered Penn’s Friends and served as Presidents. Later after chartering West Penn Travelers, they became State Directors. In addition, they transformed Caring & Sharing from a charity at International consisting of a money jar sitting on a table to an event raising over $30,000/year. When we were chapter presidents, we learned much from them by attending rallies in Pennsylvania. We are proud to call them friends and will miss them tremendously. Fortunately, they will continue to be active in the Klub.
