Region Eight Directors

As this is our last formal article as Region Eight Directors, I would like to take this time to reflect on our time in the Newmar Kountry Klub.

We have been members since 1992 and are one of only a handful of active members who have a 4-digit membership number. Our tenure has been led by seven different International Directors, three Regional Directors and three office staff. When we first joined, Canada was all one region, then called Region Seven. A reorganization took place in the early 90’s and Canada became Region Eight and Nine.

The Kountry Klub logo has undergone four variations in 30 years to the latest we now use in conjunction with the Newmar brand.

We have attended twenty-five international rallies across the US and even one in Canada in 1995. We have missed six international rallies, with two being missed due to COVID.

To say there have been lots of changes over 30 years is an understatement. We have moved from a primarily travel trailer and 5th wheel Klub to the now beautiful motor homes that Newmar is producing today. Electronics and innovation have driven our needs as a Klub to offer our members appropriately designed classes and training to fully enjoy our chosen vehicles, but the bottom line of the Klub has always been to focus on food, fun and friendship.

I know a lot of people think, I don’t want to join a club and be committed to attending. We never felt we were obligated with the Klub; it was always we couldn’t wait to go and see our friends! For us, it was a lifestyle we chose. You know that old saying, the more you put in the more you get out. What we have received from the Klub far outweighs our commitment we made to the Klub.

As we move forward, we are not disappearing. We will continue on with the Klub, but we will also be able to spend more time with our grandkids.

Don’t forget to check out the many luncheons and rallies taking place across the south in your winter travels. Also, the 2024 International Rally in Pueblo, Colorado.

Have a safe, happy and healthy winter. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
