Evan and Debbie Hughes (19771)
Members-At-Large
We are off and traveling from Texas to Oklahoma, then to Pennsylvania to name a few stops. We are looking forward to the warmer weather that is late spring and summer. As always, we are trying to attend as many rallies as we can, and talk to as many of you, the members of the Kountry Klub, as possible. It is not always easy to attend everything, so we concentrate on different areas each year. This year we are focusing on the Midwest and East.
As we talk to each group we meet, as your Members-at-Large, we are looking for ideas and suggestions that can make your experiences in the Kountry Klub better, and where we can improve. But did you know you don’t have to wait for us to attend a rally? By using our contact information, you can share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions any time. We are here for you.
As we travel to the many rallies we attend each year, we have the opportunity to see how different groups host rallies. And have the opportunity to share with rally hosts and Chapter Officers some of the great ideas that other hosts across the Klub have used for activities, meals, and outings during the rallies we have attended. Our thought, like many of you, is why reinvent the wheel?
A few years ago, the Kountry Klub started a Facebook group for Directors and Officers of the Kountry Klub. The idea behind this group is to provide a platform where Directors and Officer could share their successes and ask questions of their fellow officers throughout the United States and Canada. One of the things we have attempted to do is let the officers know about this group as we travel.
We have signed up many officers to this group and it has been used with some success, but it is an underutilized resource. We realize that the officers who attend the International Rally have some opportunity to network with other officers, but not everyone can attend the International Rally each year. The Facebook group is an opportunity to make connections and share ideas.
Signing up is easy. It is a closed group for Kountry Klub Directors and Officers only. So, when you ask to join, you must answer the questions or you will not be approved.
To join: You can simply type in: “State/Provincial Directors & Chapter Officers Newmar Kountry Klub” on your Facebook page under the search function, ask to join, answer the questions. We hope you find it to be a useful tool.
Many of you may already know this, although some of you may not. We are participating in the Quilts of Valor Foundation 2023 Block Challenge again this year. You do not need to be a quilter to participate. You can find information on the block at: https://www.qovf.org/national-block-drive/.
Below is a completed block. It is a combination of red, white, and blue, please keep the colors in the same order as the block shown. You can bring completed blocks to the International Rally in Sedalia, Missouri. If you are unable to attend the rally, we will be accepting completed blocks at the Klub office as we get closer to the rally date. If you need assistance with the block or have questions, please reach out and ask. We truly appreciate your time and giving in this endeavor.
We thank all the Directors and Officers that volunteer their time and efforts to make this Klub what it is. Keep up the great job and know you are appreciated.
