Back on February 2, the Ground Hog said that there were six weeks more of winter and there were some big storms that hit parts of the US and Canada. Spring is now “springing”, and the trees are starting to leaf. It’s time to kick the tires and light the fires, pack up you RV and hit the road. April and May will see us traveling to Texas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Tennessee for rallies. Our schedule is listed below.
During January and February, we were able to talk to many of our Florida Newmar family and they shared thoughts and ideas we will pass on to the International Directors and the Board of Directors. Please continue to share your thoughts and ideas with us. This is your Klub and we need your input to make it the best Klub we can.
Along the same line is volunteering. This Klub runs on volunteers, and we need you. If each of us stepped up just a little, think of the possibilities! Rally hosts are always needed. You don’t have to do it all yourself. Ask to Co-Host a rally, or maybe run for office in your Chapter. Not sure what is entailed with taking a position? Ask someone who is already in the position. Interested in a State/Provincial Director or Regional Director position, talk to one, let them know you are interested in learning more, and possibly running for the position in the future. The joy and rewards of these positions is why most of us volunteer. We are all willing to share our knowledge and are happy when people ask. Is it your turn to step forward? Think about it. You don’t have to fill anyone’s shoes, bring your own shoes to the dance. Change is healthy for any group.
The International Rally in Sedalia, Missouri is shaping up nicely, and we hope you have plans to join us. Last year we joined the ‘Quilts of Valor Foundation’ Block Challenge. We are participating again this year. The 2023 Block is called Split Back Star Block. We hope you will join us in making some – see page 41 of the April Legacy magazine for details. If you are feeling adventurous and want to make a quilt top or a whole quilt to donate please consider doing so. We will collect the completed squares at International again. If you wish to participate and do not make it to Sedalia, you will be able to send your squares to the Klub Office once we get closer to the date. You do not need to be a quilter to make the squares. If you can sew you can do this. There are videos on YouTube that you can follow along with. For information on the Block please go to: https://www.qovf.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/STAR.pdf. Or search for Quilts of Valor foundation.org.
