Fulltimers Chapter – Presidents
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined” – Henry David Thoreau
Our Fulltimers Chapter was well represented at the Newmar Kountry Klub’s winter event at the 2023 Tampa Supershow at the Florida State Fairgrounds with 29 member coaches in attendance. The Fulltimers social on Friday afternoon in the big Newmar tent hosted 66 people. We want to thank everyone that attended. Ron &Wanda Llewellyn attended and addressed those present.
A Newmar Owners’ Luncheon took place at Mt Olive Shores North in Polk City, Florida on February 2nd at 12 PM, co-hosted by the Fulltimers along with the Florida Sea Turtles and the Florida Manatees Chapters. This event was open to all Newmar owners, NKK members or not. Burgers and dogs were provided by the Fulltimers Chapter. A special thank you goes to Independence RV in Winter Haven for sponsoring the event and providing door prizes. Dick Quinby also contributed two chairs for the door prize drawing. We had over 100 people in attendance including our Vice Presidents Victor & Pam Lorentz and Secretary Tom & Barbara Palmer. Evan & Debbie Hughes were in attendance and provided comments for the group.
We are looking forward to our Desert Bloom Rally in Casa Grande, Arizona, starting on Tuesday, April 18th. There will be meals and group outings. All the details about this rally were in the Winter edition of our Travelling Times newsletter. Hosts are Terry & Terri Roberts and Barbara Nuehring.
We hope one of our members may want to organize another “Social” summer rally, perhaps in the northwest or northeast part of the country. Any suggestions will be happily accepted.
By the time you read this Registration for the NKK Fulltimers Rally and Annual Business Meeting will have opened and we anticipate it will already be sold out as in previous years, but we are maintaining a waitlist. Contact us if you are interested in having your name added to the list. The rally will be at the historic Mark Twain Cave Campground in Hannibal, Missouri the week before International September 24th-29th. We are planning on three dinners and four breakfasts with the third farewell dinner to be held aboard a riverboat sunset cruise along the “Mighty Mississippi” among numerous other activities.
The Annual Business Meeting will be held Monday, September 25th, at 10:00 AM at the Mark Twain Campground meeting room. All members in good standing with the NKK and the Fulltimers Chapter are invited to attend. Election of officers will take place.
We are pleased to announce that this year’s humanitarian cause will be the Hannibal Alliance for Youth Services. “HAYS” was founded as an all-volunteer organization that distributes food, clothing, and supplies to hundreds of local students each year. “HAYS” has several ongoing projects—the Buddy Pack program, Mentor Program, student support services, financial aid to families in need, and more. The Fulltimers Chapter takes pride in its long-standing history of leaving the areas we visit benefiting from our presence there.
We will again have many of our member coaches caravanning to the International Rally in Sedalia. Once again, this year at International, the Fulltimers Chapter will be hosting the ever-popular lemonade and popcorn station. We are planning to present several informational seminars to share our collective knowledge. Impromptu get-togethers and a chapter social will also take place.
Keep checking the Klub Calendar for more details about the Third Annual Holly Jolly Rally in St. Augustine, Florida scheduled for December 10th, at St. Augustine RV Resort. We have 30 sites reserved.
