Well, I’m writing this at the end of August and by the time this is published the year 2024 will be mostly gone. It is amazing how quickly things can change and how fast change can happen. It started with Greg & Margie Harrop retiring as Florida State Directors, Then Phil & Charlene Budd as Tennessee State Director’s. Next, we lost Barb Watson. Then Bill & Angela Mannion were appointed as Tennessee State Director’s and Donna Jones & Bill Stanley were appointed as Florida State Director’s. Next Jim Watson stepped down as Tri-State Director. Gary & Wanda Smith retired then Mike & Beth Klingele were appointed as Region 5 Directors. My head is still spinning. As much as we will miss everyone’s commitment and leadership, we will still get to fellowship with them from time to time and we wish them well and Godspeed.
Carole & I had the privilege of meeting and working with Mike & Beth Klingele, who were new as Region 5 Directors at the International Rally but not new to organization and leadership. From the day we arrived they were diligent in their approach and made sure we had what was required to finish our tasks. With Jim Watson’s knowledge of new coach display, pet contest and card bingo, everything ran smoothly. I believe that Mike & Beth will fit right into Region 5.
Our Region 5 Rally will be at Coastal Georgia RV Resort, 24-29 October. I believe it will be a great rally and there should be a lot of shrimp to eat there. We will carve out a couple of hours to conduct our Peach State Krackers annual meeting. This year we will be electing new officers. Currently we have four nominations, one for each of the four officer positions available, which are president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. Should you be interested in or have any questions about any of these positions, please contact me. The exact date and time of our meeting will be provided later.
Please remember all our families and friends who have medical issues and challenges and especially their care givers. Keep them in your daily devotions and prayers. We love all of you and are excited to see you out on the road.
