Hello Newmar Friends! We are Ali and Phoebe (actually, looking at our photo, we are Phoebe and Ali) and we have been asked to field questions from the Newmar Kountry Klub members as part of our role as Assistants to the International Directors. You have questions? We’ve got answers! If you’ve heard a rumor, we will try to get you an answer. If you are new to the Klub and you are confused by something, write an email to us, “Puppies” care of KlubDirectors@NewmarCorp.com and we will answer. Basically, we are Knowers of All, or at least Knowers of Some, after all we are just puppies. We’ll sniff out the answers.
Dandy Wills from Northern Cali
Update: Last month we received a nice note from our friend Dandy in Northern Cali asking about dog parks in Pueblo. We talked about “Dogtopia” in Pueblo, but I overheard our parents talking to some nice people in West Virginia saying that we would have the “World’s Largest Dog Park Ever”! They also said something about the horse track. I told you last time Dandy I don’t like horses. Not one bit! And now they plan to put me out to pasture with them? (Phoebe what does this out to pasture mean? Why are they putting us with horses of all things? How big is this “world’s largest” and will there be too many holes for me to stick my head into that I will not be able to keep everyone safe? This might not be good.)
Don’t worry Ali, nor Dandy, I don’t think the horses will be on the horse track – not pasture – when we are there. It will be just for us puppies. As far as holes go, yeah, you will probably be very busy sticking your head in things, but you always are.
Dear Puppies,
Is it true that the Leadership Council has had some more changes since you talked about it last?
Always Gotta Know What’s Changing
Gosh Gotta Know,
Our humans were at it again!! More people moving on a bus – as many people that have been moving on this bus, I think we should write a song about it. (Phoebe think about how a song about buses and people might go. I am writing an article. You stopped writing after Dandy and now I have the hard stuff! You always get off easy.)
So, this is what I heard, Gotta. I heard that Gary and Wanda Smith, Region Directors of Region 5, that’s the Southeast part of the country, decided to retire from their position. They have been amazing the whole time they have been an RD! Region 5 has the most members of any region in the country! They were great and all the people in that region loved them and will really miss them. We give them a High Paw for their outstanding efforts in serving the membership in so many ways. And we will see them down the road! Thank you, Gary and Wanda!
(The people on the bus go up and down… How is that for a song start Ali?)
Next mom and dad had to get on the small screen and talk to a few folks about stepping on to the bus (always with the bus, can anyone explain this bus to me. Luca, your mama and dad have buses sometimes. Do you get buses?)
And boom we have a new aunt and uncle joining our leadership team. (See how I subtly took the leadership council over and got Phoebe and I a place on the bus. I don’t like being left out. A simple slip of the word “our” and, well, it’s ours.)
(Ali, stay on point much???)
And next thing we know we have a new aunt and uncle joining our leadership team. Uncle Mike and Aunt Beth Klingele from the Florida panhandle will be stepping onto THE bus. Beth and Mike have the energy, enthusiasm, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to provide focus on serving our fellow Kountry Klub members. Their leadership and team-building skills will further deepen and grow the Klub officer team. (I think all those fancy words could translate into them being first new RDs to throw a party. I don’t know why I said that except I do like a party, and I remember them they were nice. And they keep their car in a box. I think that’s fun. And Parties are fun. Makes sense.)
Now it seems there are a lot of the seats on the bus that are filled with so many nice people and Mom and Dad say they all have a heart for the members and the Kountry Klub. We like when our people have hearts.
Speaking of hearts, you didn’t think we would forget you, Whitney Woodcox, now did you? Whitney joined our Leadership Council and the Home Office Staff a while back and jumped in exactly as we needed her too. Thank you, Whitney. (We remember your first day because it was the first bring-your-puppies-to-work-cuz-your-coach-is-in-the-shop Day. It was also the day of our June Leadership Council meeting. This time the Humans were in the small TVs and on the wall too. Dad says that is technology. Whitney said, don’t point the camera at me I haven’t finished my salad. I said look there are dogs outside that window. Remember Phoebe???) Oh yeah, I was talking about Whitney. We like her. She is on THE BUS. She made an Instagram. Mom liked that. She got thrown in the deep end on Grupio. She swam as if her life depended on it. She stepped into Aunt DeAnn’s big shoes, and she is off and running. Maybe you were able to meet her in Pueblo. If not, I am sure you will get a chance to talk to her soon in the Kountry Klub office.
Dear Puppies,
We have heard that more things are changing. We know this is an International Klub. We heard that there are new rules for taking pets into Canada. I love Canada. But I don’t want to be left there if the rules change. Mom and Dad want to go to the Maritimes next year, I don’t know where or what that is, but do I need to worry about these new rules?
Nervous Maple Leaf Lover in Upstate New York
Dear Maple Leaf Lover,
I too am a tree hugger or really a tree sniffer, but I prefer a nice, large, old oak tree. They have lots of holes and places for me to stick my head into. Always trying to keep everyone safe. Always looking for danger. Speaking of danger, Maple Leaf Lover, you have a right to be concerned! This new CDC Regulation is no joke!
Below is a link that your parents must consider if you are a dog and you are trying to enter the US from a foreign country (aka Canada) after August 1, 2024, per the CDC. (This is very harsh Phoebe. They refer to us as “dogs”. We are puppies! We should have Puppy Rights!):
This link has all the requirements in this regulation. Please Maple Leaf Lover have your parents check this out if they are planning a trip after August 1, 2024!
Dear Puppies,
How on earth did your parents get the next four years of rallies, located, and announced by mid-ish June? We have never had this kind of information this early, ever, in all the years we have been Kountry Klub members!
Shocked at an RV campground in Frankenmuth
Our mom and dad seem to always have the little TV things in front of their faces. We lay on the keyboard, climb in front of the keyboard, you name it, but they don’t seem to stop. They promised the members during Q & A sessions that by mid-June they would have the answer to the most asked question: Where is next year’s rally?
They would always answer that they would have the next three years in mid-June. Hah! After a HUGE snafu on Memorial Day, Mom and Dad set into motion a new plan. We had to pull out of the Wisconsin rally (we really wanted to go to WI because we heard they don’t have horses, only cows. We really like cows!) because we had to add an additional stop on the summer calendar. We left from Nappanee, IN to Lewisburg, West Virginia right on the way to Grand Rapids, Minnesota. We liked Lewisburg. Did we tell you about the World’s Biggest Dog Park? (Duh, you started this article with that Ali!!) And now we get to go there again next year!
It may have seemed like mom and dad pulled a rabbit (we don’t really like rabbits either) out of a hat, but we have been putting the miles in to get the decisions made! The plan was pretty solidly in place for the Newmar Kountry Klub Board of Directors meeting on May 29th. That is until that snafu on Memorial Day. Now it is all in the future – four years in the future – and planning can commence!
That’s all from us Puppies this edition. Thanks for hanging with us. Peace Out!!
