Hello Newmar Friends! We are Ali and Phoebe and we have been asked to field questions from the Newmar Kountry Klub members as part of our role as Assistants to the International Directors. You have questions? We’ve got answers! If you’ve heard a rumor, we will try to get you an answer. If you are new to the Klub and you are confused by something, write an email to us, “Puppies” care of KlubDirectors@NewmarCorp.com and we will answer. Basically, we are Knowers of All, or at least Knowers of Some, after all we are just puppies. We’ll sniff out the answers.
Dear Puppies,
You two kind of annoy me. I’m not sure why but I read the Legacy cover-to-cover, but I skip right over you two. Why should I spend time listening to puppies?
Rallying in the Rain, Lake City, FL
Dear Rallying in the Rain,
Ali: I find Phoebe annoying also, but I’m just beautiful, not annoying at all. You should read our stuff because we are the puppies and like it says above, we are Knowers of All, or at least Knowers of Some. Give us a try and see if we can’t win you over with our amazing knowledge. Plus, we always have the inside scoop because everyone thinks we are just innocent puppies.
Dear Puppies,
I am a member of the Newmar Kountry Klub. How do I decide which chapter to join, and which rallies I can go to? And where can I find out what is going on in the Klub?
Trying to Get a Grip in Grand Junction
Dear Triple G-J
Ali: Don’t fret, our humans make this much harder than it needs to be. If you are a member of the Newmar Kountry Klub, you are welcome to attend any event that has adequate space available for your registration. In fact, Phoebe and I always recommend getting on the waitlist for events even if they are sold out. Life always happens, and spaces seem to open for waitlisted folks all the time.
Phoebe: As our calendar goes this year, we will have attended rallies in a lot of different regions. We can tell you where all the best dog parks are across the country. Maybe next year we can hit Canada and the Northeast and let you know about dog parks there. We love rallies cuz there are lots of new dog parks and sniffs!
Ali: That pretty much covers Kountry Klub membership and the ability to attend chapter, state and region rallies around the country.
The NewmarKountryKlub.com is the official Klub website. All our activities, the Klub store and any general information can be found on our website. Your active Kountry Klub membership allows you entry into any rally on the Calendar of Events. If you open the Calendar of Events, that is where you find all the rallies that are happening across the country and Canada and is also where you register for any rally that you would like to attend. If you are making travel plans you can sort on the regions you will be in and find rallies to attend along your travel path. There is a lot of information on the website, and you should really go familiarize yourself with it, if us puppies can work our way through, so can you!
Phoebe: It is all about the dog parks and sniffs, Ali, what is not to get? Ali: Phoebe, do you think everyone attends rallies like we do? We are always at rallies. Mom and dad leave and say it’s rally time, and then we don’t see them all day. I don’t get these rallies…
Ali: When it comes to joining Chapters, my mom and dad say the more the merrier. As a Kountry Klub member you are eligible to join any and as many chapters as you want. By being a member of a chapter, you will learn what is going on within that chapter before others. Most chapters will give their members first notification on events being held in their area. Giving you an early chance to sign up! Membership has its privileges. So, to begin with you may want to join a local chapter near where you live, and there are lots of chapters to choose from across the US and Canada. Then if you winter in a different location, you may want to join a chapter near where you winter. There are no rules on which or how many chapters of which you can be members. There shouldn’t be competition between chapters because the way we see it the more chapters, the more rallies, and choices of what you can do with your motorhome.
Dear Puppies,
Do you understand the A, B, Cs of RVing? If I have a Super C – can I still rally with the rest of you?
Superstar in a Super C
Dear Superstar,
A – have Adventures
B – Be outdoors
C – I’m over Camping, start Glamping
Phoebe: Sheesh Ali, you think you know so much. You are all wrong on this one. I got you Superstar, Phoebe to the rescue!
Class A or Class C, 5th wheel or pull-behind, all welcome. Length, model, new or new-to-me, we are all Newmar and equal in all ways when it comes to our events and rallies. We love to travel, we enjoy meeting new Friends, having new Adventures and making new Memories, that is what RVing, and the NKK is all about. That means we are all welcome to any Newmar Rally. Big dogs, little dogs, yappy dogs (like Ali) we are all welcome in the dog parks! In fact, Welcoming is one of the Values of the Newmar Kountry Klub.
Dear Puppies,
We heard that your parents started a new position Region Director, Special Events. What does that mean and how does it fit in? What do they do? Why do we need this?
Reader of Adventure and Fantasy Novels
Dear Reader,
Ali: First, let’s start with Definitions. Special Events fall into three categories: Caravan – with your coach and moving from place to place like the Grand Circle Caravan or an Alaskan Caravan. Stationary – with your coach but staying at a single location like the Balloon Fiesta or the Washington DC events. Other Travels – Trips where you go places without your coach, but you are still with your Newmar Family like the Hawaiian Cruise or the Panama Canal Cruise
Phoebe and I do not prefer the last kind cuz we don’t get to go, and we have a babysitter. We are not babies! But our sitter has a pack of wild wawa’s – that’s chihuahua’s to those not in the know – and they are kind of fun. Sort of like a dog park, but we miss our mom and dad.
The thing that all Special Events have in common is that they are all Bucket List adventures that you can share with a group of people that you already know and love to travel with, your Newmar Family. These Dream vacations have all the arrangements made for you, all that you must do is show up and enjoy. You have a host which will work to handle all your needs and make sure that you are set to be part of the adventure. We have some direct competition with these bucket list travels with your coach, just know that we will offer you all of the same itineraries as the other guys but you will be with all Newmar coaches and will pay a lot less. Mom says that’s value. Dad says that’s marketing.
Phoebe: Ali says, blah, blah, blah, and blah… she is ALWAYs talking!
Ali: The Other Travels are events that we set up with an outside travel agency that helps us to source the best group values for our members. The nice thing here is that if you have a Bucket List trip that you’ve been wanting to do outside of your coach, you can still have your Newmar Family along for the ride – so to speak.
Now, as for the position of Region Directors – Special Events, this was a role that our parents felt very strongly about. If the NKK was going to continue to offer Special Events for our members, there needed to be a way to make sure that all events were built on the same set of core principles. We wanted quality travel and accommodations, well-thought-out itineraries and a professionally run activity and at a price point that benefits our members. In other words, we wanted to give our members the best memories possible at the best value. To do this, we felt that their needed to be training in how to design and lead a great adventure so that we could be like McDonald’s.
Phoebe: Really, go on, I can’t wait to hear this one, Ali. Always with the food for you!
Ali: No really, Marketing 101, when you go into McDonald’s you know exactly what to expect (Delicious French Fries, right Phoebe? Delicious.) and our dad – we think he’s a marketing genius and he also is most likely to give us French Fries – wants all our members to expect the best on our Special Events and to get the best as expected! Our parents thought this was too important to leave to chance and instead wanted to set in place an activity that could guarantee success with our NKK Special Events.
And in case you missed the announcement, we would like to let you know that there is a brand, new member of our Leadership Council – we told you about the Leadership Council in the February/March Legacy Magazine. Our new Region Directors – Special Events (RD-SE) are Sue & Jerry Argabrite. Sue & Jerry will be bringing along their Assistant RD-SE, Luca. We haven’t met Luca yet, but maybe at a dog park soon. The Argabrites have been hosting special events since 2010 when they started hosting with the Winnebago Itasca Travelers and since 2018 with Newmar. At the end of 2024 they will have completed 73 special events having been hosts for 35 of them. Sue & Jerry have been instrumental in helping the NKK to grow our Special Event offerings by establishing a Tour Host Training Academy which has been running since January and is about to graduate our first new group of Tour Hosts raring to get our members on a new and exciting Special Event soon.
Ali: Hey Phoebe, what do you think of this Luca? He writes us an email, but he doesn’t ask us a question. He says “Hi” and then gives our Newmar Family some really good information. Are mom and dad going to fire us and hire Luca? We are very good assistants and Luca is brand new… I don’t know if I like this Luca. He is sniffing and I thought it was our job to sniff out the facts???
Phoebe: Oh Ali, you are spiraling again. Luca is cool. He is just helping our members know that there will be Dog Walkers available during Pueblo if puppy parents need to go away for long days. Mom and dad do not want to replace us – well at least not me.
Hi Phoebe and Ali (aka Puppy and “Wolf-dog”)
Our parents have met, but we haven’t officially sniffed yet, my name is Luca and I’m a 15 month old Brittany. My peeps told me that they are the new Regional Directors—Special Events, I’m not sure what that means. I know they take me to meet all sorts of new people and dogs all around the country in our traveling kennel. They spend long days away from the traveling kennel and come back smelling of strange, new, exotic places. They must eat lots of yummy food while they are away all day, but they never bring any home to me, grrrrumble!
They are making plans to take me to a new state in the traveling kennel, a place they call Colorado, to the International Rally in Poooeelbow, (help me, I’m just a puppy and I can’t spell). They’ve talked to a really nice man there named Jason Garrison. Jason is the owner of Mile High Pawz, LLC. Jason is available to walk me and any of my new friends while our peeps are having fun days and evenings at the International Rally. Jason is licensed, bonded, insured, and trained in pet first aid and cpr.
I’m spreading the word if anyone wants to use Jason to walk their furry family members, they can contact him directly at Milehighpawzllc@gmail.com or at 719-200-8086. Be sure to let him know that you are at the Newmar Kountry Klub International Rally at the Pueblo State Fairgrounds. My parents will arrange for Jason to come to the fairgrounds for an official meet and greet with anyone that has contacted him for walking services. They say to keep an eye out on the Grupio app for date and time….puppies….what is a Grupio?
Licks and cookies for now, your soon to be friend,
Luca Argabrite
Dear Luca,
They told us that we have too much space this month so we will talk about Grupio in the next Legacy Magazine!
See you soon!!
Ali and Phoebe
