New Mexico Chile Peppers – Presidents
Wow is time flying. The Chile Peppers as well as Cindy and I have had a busy summer! For those who weren’t able to enjoy the Newmar International Rally in Missouri, you missed a fun and informative event. The weather was great, the fairgrounds were nice, and the event locations all were excellent. During the event, our Chile Peppers chapter joined with the Colorado Kruisin Aires to host a social get-together at our coach. What a turn out! In addition, we had many of the attendees join the Chile Peppers! We also attended the Region One social and had a number of folks join our chapter from various areas of the region. We now have 112 members, up from 34 just twelve months ago!
Our Region One Directors, Larry & Mary Roberts, were in attendance at the Chile Peppers/Kruisin Aires social, and Mary couldn’t help herself and did an impromptu dance! We also represented the State of New Mexico as part of the State introductions during the rally.
In addition to a great rally, we were able to enjoy several of the tours during the week. Cindy and I went on the Kansas City tour and enjoyed ourselves, even if we were late to the bus! We also went to the Budweiser Clydesdale Ranch where I got to make friends!
Plans are also well underway for our next chapter rally, to be held in June 2024 at Angel Fire Resort, New Mexico. While the event is now sold out, we are taking back-ups and we are looking into increasing the number of participants. Contact Phil Newman, Chile Peppers President, or keep an eye on the Klub Calendar.
The Chile Peppers are also supporting our next state rally which will be a caravan going to several well-known Native American sites. One of those leading the rally, our Chile Peppers Secretary, is Native American, so this will be especially special. A special shout out to our State Directors, Jim and Lorie Landers, who led another successful NKK Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Special Event!
Cindy and I also attended the joint Utah and Arizona State Rally in Scottsdale, Arizona and also the Region One Rally in Bakersfield, California. If you don’t try to attend one of your local rallies, you may be missing out. More on this in the next Legacy.
So, you can see it has been a busy time for the Chile Peppers with no end in sight. Here in New Mexico, it is chili pepper season, and we are busy making chili ristras, which help us get ready for the holiday season.
To summarize, the Chile Peppers are doing well, our coach is great, the friends we have gained even better. We look forward to the next few months.
