Bob & Mary Sue Briggs – Missouri State Directors
Living the RV Life!
We spent weeks getting ready and we’re all set to go, tomorrow at
seven we’ll hit the road.
It’s sunny and warm, the skies are so bright. What a perfect day, can’t
wait for the night!
Do you hear that sound? What can it be? Oh no! Our catalytic
converter we no longer see!
Who would steal such a thing? Members of a crime ring.
So our trip was delayed but we are now on our way. We traveled 300
miles today.
We’re tired and hot and ready to eat- Oh golly don’t tell me-we lost one
of our leveling feet!
We leveled with blocks and hooked up our power. The water is on and
I want a hot shower!
We are just about done setting up our rig in spite of our problems it’s
not a bad gig.
I gently unscrew the black tank cover cap and out comes some stuff
that was left in the trap.
I am covered with “poppy water”- what else can go wrong? Suddenly
I hear my wife singing this song.
ABCDEFG won’t you please work with me?
HIJKLMNOP I am pushing this button 1-2-3!
but my stairs are stuck under my RV.
They won’t go out-they just stay in, what else can go wrong-we just
can’t win. We take our showers and sit down to eat. The next thing we
know – we are up on our feet. The stairs decided to deploy on their
own, we’ve got an angel in our RV home.
Thank goodness our slides went out with such ease and the food in our
frig is as cool as can be.
The sun begins to set so we head off to bed. Tomorrow’s a new day I
say in my head. It could have been worse- we didn’t have a flat, the
engine sounds good- I think we’ll make it back.
We had a very full Missouri State Rally in September with events, entertainment and lots of food. BBQ, Arrowhead, Marble Factory Tour, flying pancakes and Italian Food were highlights of the rally.
October brought our Chapter Rally during the Maple Leaf Festival in Carthage, Missouri. There were many activities, meals and time for fellowship and fun. Hometown parade, local food and other festival activities.
As we look toward 2025, please pencil in our combined Kansas/Missouri State Rally, September 24-28. It will be held at the Coachlight RV Park in Carthage, Missouri. We should have the rally registration and more information on the NKK Calendar soon. This rally will be a perfect stop on your way to warmer places for the winter or the perfect end to your 2025 RV season. See you there!
