Steve & Phyllis Thornburg (22044)
Indiana State Directors
Many of you were at the 2024 Tampa Super Show and Newmar Kountry Klub Rally in January and saw Duane & Laurie present the first ever International Director Emeritus certificate and badges to Ron & Wanda Llewellyn. A little later in the rally, we caught Ron in a very rare moment of actually sitting in a chair and relaxing for a moment. So, Phyllis walked up behind him and asked if we could get a picture of him and naturally, he figured we wanted to see his new Emeritus name tag – which we did, so he uncovered the badge and “smiled pretty” for the picture. Now it is a very good picture of two good looking individuals, but does anybody see the irony on display? We will leave it for you the reader to recognize the special fun here. If you know Ron very well, it is obvious. (He is fond of the colors scarlet and gray, being from Ohio.) We’re happy Ron has a good sense of humor…
Although we are getting close on time, you can still register for the Indiana & Kentucky State Directors’ Joint Rally being held April 18 to 21 at the Follow the River RV Resort in Florence, Indiana. The campground is located essentially adjacent to the Ohio River and is 30 miles East of Madison, Indiana, 70 miles Northeast of Louisville, Kentucky, and 50 miles Southeast of Cincinnati, Ohio. All sites are 50 Amp, Full Hook Up.
The Indiana State Rally will be at the Michigan City Campground in Michigan City, Indiana, August 15-18. Our block of sites was released March 31, but there may still be sites available. All of our sites are 50 Amp, Full Hook Up.
Michigan City is located in the Northeast corner of Indiana and is close to Chicago, Lake Michigan and the Indiana Dunes. There are a number of museums in the area and lots of shopping opportunities such as the Lighthouse Place Premium Outlet Mall. The Blue Chip Casino is also nearby. And you can put your toes in the sand at the Lake Michigan beach.
Rally registration can be done on the NKK Website in Klub Calendar / All Events / Region Six / Indiana State Rally or Indiana/Kentucky Joint Rally; fill out the individual information form and submit – BOOM! You are registered. Or you can register for either rally via email to pdthornbg@aol.com.
A couple of thoughts from the world of technology…
For those that don’t want Alexa listening in on their conversations, they are contemplating making a male version… it won’t listen to anything.
The biggest joke on mankind is that computers have begun asking humans to prove they aren’t robots.
We’re hoping for a busy camping season with several rallies and a lot of opportunities to see and hang out with friends. We look forward to seeing you all soon and frequently. Travel safely and stay safe….
