Hello from Western New York State. As I write this article, the Lakers just had our last chapter rally of the year. The Lakers held our annual business meeting at this rally. At our meeting Bob & Barb Engel proposed that the Lakers donate money from the Lakers checking account to the Hurricane Victims in Region 5. The Lakers at this business meeting decided unanimously to donate $500.00 to Region 5. We also had further discussion and thought Laker members may want to donate money on their own behalf along with our chapter donation. Within in a few minutes Laker members at this business meeting raised another $250.00. Our Treasurer will mail a check to the Region 5 Director for $750.00. In the coming weeks we hope other Laker members will want to donate money on their own behalf. The Lakers want to put out a challenge to all other NKK Chapters to do the same. Let’s see what NKK Chapter can raise the largest donation!

 

Other things the Lakers did at our rally was to celebrate Thanksgiving & Christmas. On Saturday our rally host Bill Nixon cooked us a garbage can turkey. What a delicious and tasty bird it was. Along with the turkey all attendees bring a dish to pass. Then on Sunday we celebrate Christmas with a gift exchange. With most campgrounds closing up after this weekend (Columbus Day) now is the time to winterize the coach for the winter. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
