Texas State Directors

The last months have been busy for Newmar rally attendees. The International Rally in Sedalia was a great success. We loved meeting many new Klub members from Texas and were surprised to see how many are not active in a state chapter. Hopefully, many will join us in the near future. Immediately following the International Rally, Mike & I headed for Kerrville, Texas for the Texas State Rally. We were excited to schedule the rally in conjunction with the solar eclipse and we were not disappointed! The weather cooperated and we were able to view a spectacular event of nature. In addition, we were happy to have retired NASA engineer Jeff Stone and Klub member Don Sabers speak to us about their experiences with eclipses. Both are noted experts on the topic. We had 34 coaches present, representing 70 people. Eight of these coaches were first-time attendees.

We are thrilled that it looks like we will soon have another chapter in the Lone Star State. A group from the “north” area, member Debbie Lemon, is exploring the possibility. Don’t be surprised if you get a call from her encouraging you to support the idea. Also, remember that you can be a member of more than one chapter, and you can also attend rallies in any chapter. The forming of another chapter will give us more opportunities to spend time in our beautiful coaches and to also make friends with more fantastic people!

The November rally for the Kountry Lone Stars South was held in Aransas Pass. This is one of the favorite spots for the chapter. We once again filled the rally hall with great food, good friends, and lots of fun!

As we look forward to 2024, we are excited to see growth in our group. The new International Directors Laurie Hunt & Duane Paige are enthusiastically planning for the future. We wish them great success. We also want to thank Ron & Wanda Llewellyn for their years of service. Closer to home, we want to thank Larry & Patsy Wood for 10 years of dedication to their position as Region Three Directors. It is a big job, and they did it well!
