Illinois State Directors

If you missed out on the International Rally in Pueblo, Colorado, you missed a great time.  The entertainment was top-notch, the food was great, and a wide variety of seminars were offered.  However, the best part of attending the International Rally, as well as Region, State and Chapter rallies, are the friendships you make along the way.

We, along with Bill & Pat Schmidt (Iowa State Directors), hosted the ILLINOIS/IOWA JOINT STATE RALLY in August at the Starved Rock Family Campground in Utica, Illinois.   We enjoyed a potluck supper on the first evening of the rally.  On Monday we had lunch at Starved Rock Lodge then boarded a trolley for a historical tour of the area and a boat ride where we learned how Starved Rock got its name.  On Tuesday we enjoyed a hot buffet lunch at the Lodge and then attended a musical show: Heatwave, Vintage Songs of Summer.  The show was fantastic, and the songs brought back a lot of fun memories.  I think some of us were even singing along!  On Wednesday, we provided a breakfast of waffles, sausage and fruit (which is an Illinois/Iowa State Rally tradition).

We are looking forward to attending the Region 4 Rally September 10-14, at The Rustic Barn Campground in Kieler, Wisconsin.  Judy & Paul always host a great rally.  We look forward to making memories with you one rally at a time!
