We have been on the road for several months and we will be headed home after the Region 5 Rally in Brunswick, Georgia. During our time on the road, we have stayed at many campgrounds. We believe the nicest campground, that is not a resort, that we stayed at this year is Pine Lake Campground in Bishop, Georgia, 12 miles South of Athens, home of The University of Georgia. The campground is split into two sections. Section A is the original campground with small sites and amenities, such as a camp store, bath houses, laundry facilities, WiFi, catch & release fishing, nature trails, wildlife viewing, paved roads and gravel parking. Section B is a new section and that is where we were parked. The grounds were clean, the campground is open year-round, they have full hook-ups; pull thru, back-in and pull-in spaces and cabin rental. The sites had a lot of room and a lot of grass. In the center of the campground there were sites that had large open areas, a good gathering place where a lot of people could get together and socialize. Some of the sites had areas cleared with a lot of shade trees behind them. All of the sites were gravel. The site was $50 per night but that price is doubled when the University of Georgia has a home football game. We would stay there again when in the area.

 

The 2025 Florida State Rally has been scheduled for April 23-27 (4 nights) at The Surf RV Resort in Palmetto, Florida 50 sites have been reserved for this rally and the rates are $75 per night, tax included. Rally rates are available to participants for up to 3 days prior to and 3 days after the rally, subject to availability. Rally fee and activities will be posted at a later date. Registration for the rally can now be made online at the NKK website and reservations can be made at The Surf RV Resort. Contact information is provided on the NKK website. Be sure to tell them you are with the Newmar Kountry Klub Florida State Rally to get the rally rate. Cancellation Policy: If you cancel more than 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival, your deposit will be refunded in full. If cancellation occurs less than 72 hours, your total deposit amount will be forfeited. This is a 55+ RV Resort and it is very nice. We are looking forward to hosting another great rally.

We have met Newmar owners at campgrounds that have never heard of the Newmar Kountry Klub. Let’s all continue to grow the Kountry Klub and Chapters. Also, get involved with a local chapter by hosting or co-hosting a rally or becoming an officer. It is a great way to meet people and it’s a lot of fun. Florida now has four local chapters: Florida Manatees, Florida Pelicans, Emerald Koast Sandpipers and the Florida Sea Turtles.
