Philip & Kerriann Horan – Presidents
As we write this article, the Penn’s Friend Rally is just a month away at the Old Mill Stream Campground, a beautiful 15-acre site in the heart of Lancaster County, right next to Dutch Wonderland. Planned activities include a tour of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania to explore the fascinating history of trains, and dinner in an Amish home to experience authentic Amish hospitality. There will be ample opportunities for sightseeing, shopping, and enjoying local entertainment.
We’ve also been exploring other campgrounds in our region. The Swatara State Park area offers 20 miles of shaded biking and hiking trails, a river for canoeing or kayaking, and nearby golf courses. Secondly, the Allentown area for the amusement park enthusiast, Lehigh Valley Zoo and beautiful Art Museums. Lastly, the Gettysburg area is rich in history, perfect for exploring by car or bike. While Kerriann is still working, we search for campgrounds that cater to our favorite hobbies. We love golfing, biking, kayaking, exploring outdoor markets, and meeting fellow campers around the campground, especially when they see us playing corn hole!
We are excited to head to the Regional Rally in Swan Bay this September. It’s a truly spectacular area that offers a host of our favorite activities and the joy of reconnecting with many of our regional friends.
Additionally, planning for the 2025 Penn’s Friend Rally is underway. Tentative dates are set for September 30 to October 3, 2025. More information will be provided in the next NKK issue.
