Tour #1 – Kansas City & More Tour
Date: Saturday, Sept 30 – Depart at 8:30 am return approximately 4:45 pm – 2 buses available/96 people max – YOU MUST REGISTER FOR EARLY ARRIVAL ON SEPTEMBER 29TH TO ATTEND THIS TOUR.
Are you interested in spending a day exploring a small portion of what the Show Me State has to offer? Our first stop will be the Arabia Steamboat Museum, a 30,000 square foot museum which opened in November 1991. The Arabia was a stern-wheel steamboat which sank fully loaded on the Missouri River in 1856. The wreckage was discovered in 1988 buried in a field near the small town of Arrow Rock, Missouri. The wreck was subsequently excavated, and the result is the collection we will visit. Docents will be available during our visit to enhance your experience. The next stop on our tour will be Jack Stack Freight House Restaurant located in the Crossroads Art District in the heart of Kansas City, where we will enjoy a sumptuous Kansas City style barbeque buffet lunch. Following our meal, our final stop will be the Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence, Missouri. This stop will chronicle the history of Harry S. Truman, our 33rd president and Missouri native son, during some of the most consequential years in United States history. Docents will be available during our stay to answer any questions and provide additional insight.
Price per person: $135.00 – includes luxury motorcoach transportation, buffet lunch, admission fees, taxes and gratuities.

This is a special tour for our quilters and lovers of quilts to the Missouri Star Quilt Co. in Hamilton, Missouri. The town of Hamilton, Missouri was going the way of a lot of small American towns years ago, when a young woman named Jenny Doan moved to town. Jenny was an avid quilter when her son approached her about doing online video tutorials, now with over 210 million views. Jenny is considered by many to be the “world’s most famous quilter”. Jenny became the face of the Missouri Star Quilt Co. You will enjoy a “trunk show” presented by Edie McGinnis, former associate editor of the Kansas City Star Quilts. Edie has published 18 quilt books along with numerous articles and quilt patterns. She has been the technical writer for Block Magazine for Missouri Star Quilt Co. We have allowed time to stroll and shop in the town known as the “Disneyland for Quilters.”
Price per person: $123.00 – includes luxury motorcoach transportation, catered lunch, to-go sack supper, admission fees, taxes and gratuities.
