The lighthouse towers over the beach where the Umpqua River empties into the Pacific Ocean. The walking tour is full of enriching stories about working at the lighthouse and also provides an opportunity to get a closeup view of the lantern glass prisms. \nWe will also be touring Shore Acres State Park\, which was once the estate of timber baron\, Louis J. Simpson. It features a formal garden\, inspired by the original from 1910\, with plants and flowers from all over the world. During our visit\, the rhododendrons should be in full bloom. Area trails nearby lead you to a secluded ocean cove at Simpson Beach\, another skirts the cliff’s edge offering spectacular views of rugged seascapes\, furious storm waves and migrating whales. \nThere will also be a free day to explore the coast and the surrounding areas. You could take a walk on the beach\, stroll around the marina\, or hike around Lake Marie. You can also visit the local towns of Winchester Bay\, Reedsport\, Florence\, North Bend or Coos Bay. \nThe RV site cost will be separate from your rally fee\, giving you the opportunity to come a few days earlier or stay a few days later. A new “Cancellation Policy” is being implemented. \n\nAn administrative fee of $10/person will be charged. This fee will cover costs associated with processing your rally registration and will be included in the rally fees as advertised.\nMembers who register for a rally and then:\n\n\nFor whatever reason\, cancel a minimum of 35 days prior to the start of the rally will receive a full refund\, less the administrative fee of $10/person.\nCancel 34 to 8 days prior to the start of a rally will be charged for any non-refundable commitments made on your behalf in addition to the $10/person fee.\nCancel 7 or less days prior to the start of a rally will receive No Refund on any portion of the rally fee paid.\n\n\nMembers who register for a rally and do not advise the Hosts that they will not be attending will receive No Refund.\nAll refunds will be made at the conclusion of the rally.\n\nPLEASE NOTE: Planning any rally requires long-term organization.
