Hello again everyone. Here we are, summer is over and the holidays are just about upon us. That feels so strange to say since we are writing this in August for the October publication.
We had a great summer of travels here in Washington and Oregon. We have worn tire tracks into the road on Interstate 5 and State Highway 20. We made four trips to Oregon this past summer and we know that there is interest in regenerating the Oregon Pioneers chapter.
We traveled to Pendleton, Coos Bay and the Bend/Sisters area. We particularly enjoyed exploring the John Day Fossil Beds. Oregon is a great place to explore and we never get tired of going there.
We endured extremely high, record-breaking temperatures in the Pacific Northwest over the summer and once again, much smoke from the wildfires. As we write this, we are two weeks away from our Washington State Rally (held in September) and we are looking forward to cooler temperatures and some cleaner air quality in Richland. It has been a challenge planning this rally with all the COVID changes and restrictions, but we promise we will have an enjoyable time while there.
We recently spent a week camping at beautiful Birch Bay, Washington and while we were there, we had the opportunity to meet many Newmar owners, including Dave & Diane Dickinson who are new to the Newmar Kountry Klub and were registered for the Washington State Rally. We welcome them to the NKK family and look forward to having them join us in Richland.
Dave & Diane will be ‘First Timers’ at our state rally. They are also new members of the Evergreen Aires chapter. This brings us to remind everyone that you don’t need to own a ‘New Aire’ model to join the Evergreen Aires, any model of Newmar coach or fifth wheel is welcome to join.
We will have a full report of our September rally in the December issue but until then we wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.
