Evergreen Aires – Presidents
Greetings from the Evergreen Aires. It is rally season and we hope that you all have been enjoying your summer travels and getting the opportunity for great fellowship at the Newmar Kountry Klub Rallies across the country. Back on the last week in May we had our Evergreen Aires Chapter Rally and business meeting at Wine Country RV Park. The unpredictable spring weather in Eastern Washington cooperated as we enjoyed mild temperatures and dry skies for the duration of the four-day event.
We enjoyed an interesting and informative tour of the Yakima Valley College teaching vineyard and winery in Grandview, Washington. The Grandview Campus houses a state-of-the-art teaching facility for the Vineyard and Winery Technology Programs. The teaching winery includes a laboratory, classrooms, tasting room, barrel and case storage, as well as two incubator (start-up) winery spaces. While progressing through the Winery Technology Program students have the opportunity to work through the wine making process from grape to glass, a task that also includes selling their product out of the on-campus tasting room. Having two incubators is unique to any other wine program nationally as it combines the academic and business environments into one setting enhancing the learning environment for students.
We also had some competitive fun with Card Bingo, LRC, and our second annual cornhole tournament! Congratulations to our Washington State Directors Ben and Donna Barker who took home the first-place ribbon. We even recruited some new members to our Chapter, as we met fellow NKK members Scott Grudberg and Bruce Miller who were touring through Washington State in their Dutchstar and just happened to be staying in the park during our rally. Of course, we invited them to join in on some of the fun, and by the end of the rally they were Evergreen Aires Chapter Members! We also got our Chapter business done and have already started planning for our rally next year! We are looking at various locations in Western Washington so keep your eye out for more details to come.
We are currently touring though Colorado as part of our summer travel adventure where we have met up with family in Montana, attended the Fulltimers Rally in Utah, and of course, the International Rally in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Wishing everyone safe travels and hope you enjoy the remainder of the summertime, hope to see you on the road! We can be reached at terryterrir@gmail.com.
