What a year 2020 is turning out to be! We had so many plans for traveling in our RV to explore our Region further and we were looking forward to making new friends and meeting up with so many of you. Now, we are busy making changes to help keep us all healthy and safe. Don’t dismay however, we still welcome ‘get togethers’ and keeping the fun intact with the Kountry Klub.
Mark and I spent our ‘social distancing’ time on our RV site in Las Vegas. All of the amenities were closed (club house, pools, gym, pickle ball/tennis courts, etc.) so we had to make our own fun. One of our activities was to make some fun face masks to wear for our weekly golf cart parade in lieu of gathering at the club house for social hour. All of our neighbors in ‘lock down’ were very helpful to each other. Nobody would go to a store without checking on their immediate neighbors to see if they needed something too. The cooperation was a wonderful thing to see.
We also took some walks in the countryside and in the ‘ghostly’ downtown areas of Las Vegas. We found some things that we had never seen before when things were so crowded with tourists. Art work and other landscapes that weren’t visible normally.
Even though large rallies for this season are dissipating, there are still some events that will take place in a modified format. Some SPURs are still being planned and you are welcome to join in. We just advise that you gather in small groups and continue to follow good health guidelines.
The Memorial Day weekend event “Back to the Bayou” at Seven Feathers in Canyonville, Oregon has been rescheduled for September. Please check their website directly for more information. Contact your Kountry Klub friends and join each other for what promises to be a fun time.
The Labor Day weekend, ‘Annual Sheep Run’ in the town of Reed Point, Montana will also still be held and they would love to have you attend. Contact the local campgrounds in the area directly and meet up with some of your favorite camping buddies! Host your own SPUR together.
Mark and I are now headed east to attend the annual meetings for Regional Directors in Indiana and to visit some family members that we have missed so much. Life has changed for so many of us. Don’t let that stop you from using your coach to get out this season. There is likely more campground availability than last year and camping is so much easier and healthier than traveling by air or staying in hotels. Let’s get out and get back to normal as much as we can!
Be sure to post photos of your get-togethers on our Facebook group page so we can all see how you are camping this season! Let us know (in advance) where you are going to camp to give others a chance to possibly join you for some much needed comradery.
We hope to see you down the road soon.
